Day 289 - Took Several Weeks Off From Here...
Sunday, January 12, 2014
I have been extremely busy with my new promotion. It is very discouraging when I do not get support from the director. We had a staff meeting headed by the director and he was just lying through his teeth saying how he is very much on top of things...and he was looking right at me when he said it. Grrrrr.....
This weekend is my first time being On-Call, which means I am responsible for about 8 other group homes.
My son, his girlfriend, and I flew in to Las Vegas last week. Our flight got cancelled so I was able to secure 3 flights. From Chicago to Tulsa, OK, to Dallas, TX, to Las Vegas, NV. Whew! My mother just recently came out of the hospital with a new pacemaker. I was so thrilled to see her! And my Dad too! My sister and her husband lives in Las Vegas, so I enjoyed hanging out with them too!
My mom mostly stayed in the hotel room and then scootered out for meals and gambled some. I gambled a lot with my Dad. I also hung out with my son and his girlfriend at the Vegas strip. We walked miles on that Strip! I also jogged once on the treadmill, hahaha!
It was buffets after buffets after restaurants...and all those free drinks! I think I ate at least two jars worth of cherries with my mixed drinks!
Our flight got cancelled for our return trip due to the severely cold temps. That means two extra days of vacation! Yippee!!! ....and buffets.
We stayed at the Aquarius in Laughlin, NV. My parents live on the Arizona side, so we hung out at their home too.
We finally came home after 11 pm, Wednesday, and I had to work the next day. I weighed myself and gained a whopping 9 pounds! A quarter of it has already came off without trying other than really cutting back on buffet style eating. I picked up drinking soda again which I need to really cut back by a lot!
I am hoping by the beginning of next month, I will be back to my very controlled eating and exercise plan. I also hope that I can get a good, solid handle with my new position. It can be quite overwhelming!
Well, hopefully I can get back into my healthy habits again and be a regular on this site!
