Body calling Fifi - detoxing

Saturday, January 11, 2014

One thing my bod has been saying to me since I  embarked on this eating regime is to rest and take it easy.
For the last little while, I think I have been experiencing a detox crisis. My body  has grabbed this opportunity to get rid of a whole lot of junk. It,s important to rest when you are detoxing, to give yourself the best opportunity to clear the gunk.

The brain fog has lifted & I feel myself coming out of it at the moment, from feeling lethargic and quiet to becoming energetic and vigorous.

I wonder whether Sparkies who have  recently embarked on a low carb regime, or eliminated a lot of foods from their diets, have found themselves experiencing something similar?

Whatever your eating regime, if you find you are detoxing, grab the opportunity to keep it up! Maybe try adding psyllium, aloe Vera, & vitamin c to your diet for a while.
Your body will thank you.

And let me know if you want me to post my detox/cleanse recipe.

    Fifi,
Yes I did my first Serious Detox when I started this new metabolic balance program. It was the first step, so for me it was one day only fruit and one day only veges together with a mild laxative. Well the result was anything but mild :) In fact even after the detox phase was supposed to be over and I moved to the first two weeks of the program san oil I had issues for almost the whole two weeks and it was only toward the end of the time that things settled down. I talked with my metabolic coach and she said obviously I needed the detox and that it was my body's way of getting rid of stuff. but after things started to settle down I felt much better and way more clear headed.

She has recommended it once a year. to reset the system. She also strongly advised against my heavy exercise routine during that time as well saying the body needed to focus on healing itself and the exercise would be counter productive to the process.

The way I am eating is pretty low carb though there is fruit at every meal and when I did atkins before they always say there is a couple of terrible days before the body resets itself for ketosis and my experience there was truly like that too. Then I felt amazingly great.

I would love to read your detox recipe - I am always open for new suggestion ! I agree that clarification does take place while detoxing. I detox everyday - to rid the bile from the digestive track and the kidneys , bladder etc. Warm water , cayenne and lemon , simple every night before I retire ! Hugs K

I can't decide if I'm reacting to eating lower calories or suffering from the new job!
I have had headaches the past two days but perhaps my mind is spinning from the challenges.

I keep it simple and just drink water and take it easy when I feel like that.

My detoxing is also plenty of water, and raw fruits and veggies. I use my juicer to maximise the results. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I would like for you to post your detox/cleanse recipe!

I've never done low carb so can't tell you my experience with it. But I do know that putting some easy days back into my exercise plan has helped me feel much better. emoticon

My detoxing is plenty of water, raw fruits and veggies. This "clears" the crap from my system.

YES! Sounds weird, but adding 1/8 tsp. of turmeric in my diet daily helped the liver keep up with the detoxing when I went low carb. Now, I'm not a fanatic, but I really feel 100% better being on whole, fresh foods, vs. highly processed foods. And I don't miss the white sugar/bread/flour/rice either. So, give it some time.

HUGS

My program is way different than yours. I am a low fat / high fruit carb raw organic vegan. And, yes, I do go through detox symptoms. I'm doing another 92 day juice feast at the end of 2014 and that's when the you-know-what hits the fan! LOL

Glad your program is working for you.
