I am finally feeling better from my cold and have been back to the gym after almost 2 weeks off from holidays/illness. I did a little running finally last night but it was almost like starting all over again. I couldn't run a full minute without feeling exhausted so I went back to Galloway basics with 30 seconds running/one and half minutes walking for a total of half an hour. It wasn't much but I know it's going to take time to get me back into running shape and I am ready to be patient with it and keep plugging away.
The best news is that after 2 weeks of blizzards and deep freeze temperatures (thanks polar vortex!!) here in MA, the temp is supposed to go way up tomorrow to almost 50! It's in preparation for rain later that night but I am hoping it will be dry enough in the morning to try an outside run. Do you know I haven't run outside since probably November??? It's so hard for me to run out in the cold that, even though I loathe the treadmill, I guess I loathe being cold even more. Call me a wimp but I just can't take below 30s to be outside. Even though I'm a born and raised New Englander and should be used to this, I have never liked the cold winters here. I'll be one of those people that retire to Florida in my old age! Anyway, crossing my fingers that it stays dry and relatively warm tomorrow. I'm going out for a run!!! *skips away merrily*
