I Am Going to Brag!!

This might not be polite, but my aunt always said that "If you don't toot your own horn, it won't get tooted." So, here goes a whole symphony!!

Now granted this is not much and probably nothing to most people, but yesterday, with my new SparkTracker attached, I decided that I'd try to walk in the house non-stop for 10 minutes. (Inside because I wouldn't dare try outside.) You have to have 10 continuous minutes of movement for it to be considered "exercise." So, off I went, walking back and forth in my house. Hannah thought it was great fun and joined in. We/I sang all sorts of songs as we marched along....The B-I-B-L-E, This Little Light of Mine, I'm in the Lord's Army (our favorite). I actually walked for 15 minutes!!! My legs were killing me after I was done. I didn't ride my bike last night because of it. I started not to do it again today, but then I decided to do my walking at my daughter's house since her house is larger and I didn't get so "dizzy." I did 15 minutes today. I realized that my heart rate went up even though I think I was walking slower. I survived. I also did 35 minutes of other exercise while I was at her house. My legs weren't falling off today, so I just rode my bike 2 miles!!!! I did 4.2 miles of walking/riding today.

Now, the drum roll please.....you'll laugh, but my proudest accomplishment today was that I effortlessly climbed up into my son-in-law's truck to help him put Hannah into her car seat. It's a million miles off of the ground. Usually, if I can't avoid getting into it, my husband has to push my rear up so I can get into it. I use to have absolutely no strength in the leg muscles above the knee. I'm talking I haven't been able to do anything like that since 1999!!!!! My husband kept hovering, getting ready to push, but I told him...No, let me try. Maybe he just wanted to push on my rear. HAHA!!

    emoticon emoticon You Did It!! So proud of you for hanging in there, focused and determined. It's amazing what you can do with stronger legs. Remember, a little at a time. For me, I think consistency is the challenge. What an inspiration you are! emoticon as your body is able. Here's an exercise emoticon for your effort. And about that husband of yours ... he sounds like a great guy, tush pushing and all. lol

I agree with you, hubby just wanted to 'touch' because he enjoys the pleasure. Now he can do it to be a gentleman and not because you need him too!!!!....LOL emoticon

  Hi Ronda-- This is perfectly polite and perfectly appropriate to be proud of your accomplishment-- You are letting your "Little Light Shine"--- I bet your little granddaughter had great fun while you were entertaining her, and exercising at the same time. . .

    HAHA That's hilarious - the hovering husband! Ever ready to help! You are getting heaps of exercise in, it all adds up. Good on you for building those muscles - I am finding much ease in lots of areas because I have extra strength these days not to mention stamina.
