So yesterday my family decided they wanted to go out to eat. By out to eat they meant ordering it and going to pick it up. So I just asked for a BLT and some fries. While I could've gotten something other than fries, I had enough calories left over for dinner to have them. After I tracked everything I was happily surprised to see that I was right around the upper part of my range for calories. I almost broke down and had a pop but decided against it.
First step, saying no to pop
Today's dinner however did not go so well. I knew before I got home what my mom was fixing. Well, the past two days due to my IBS and the slight changes in my diet, the bathroom has been my best friend. So when I came out, she had already fixed my plate. I never put my spaghetti on a plate, it's normally too much. I always put it in a bowl. Bowls are smaller and easier for me not to over do. I know she was trying to be nice. So I ate everything she put on my plate. Thankfully she also knows that I can't eat a large amount so the whole plate wasn't completely full. So today I was also at the highest point of my calorie range or a little over. I had to do my best to eyeball the measurement. It's also my fault because I enjoy eating spaghetti with 1 or 2 pieces of bread. At least I chose wheat for that. I should've just taken the bowl she made for my boyfriend. Didn't think about that until later. Lesson learned.
I'm not counting these days as failures, I'm looking at them to see where I need to make adjustments. For example, I'm meeting a friend tomorrow for lunch. I'm not sure where she wants to go but I know I'm going to eat a light breakfast and really look at my options for lunch. So I can make the most optimum choice without hurting my current progress and my pocket at the same time.
I have a date with my gym tonight for the first time in a while. Charging up the iPod as I write this. I'm actually kind of excited about it. I think I really have found my motivation to get myself where I want to be. When I get paid next week I think I'm going to invest in some different things to take for lunch as well as things I can make on my weekends off for breakfast, like muffins. I could also make some things for lunch and freeze them and take them out the night before and put them in the fridge so it will be thawed or almost thawed by the time my lunch rolls around. I could do the same thing for dinner. Sounds like I have a plan!
