I love my fitbit

Wednesday, January 08, 2014

I have a fitbit flex. I got it in November before Christmas, and paid under $100 for it at a retail store. I am happy with it. It shows I do walk as much and more than I thought. It shows I do sleep, and actually much better than I thought. I can sync it to my computer or my i-phone, I can log food, mood, journal, water, as well as the ability for the device to track my sleep and waking, and walking. It also has the ability to have a built in silent/buzzing alarm. I set it for me to get up, and also to leave work, and a different set for the weekend. It allows me to make as many as I need. The bracelet vibrates on my wrist silently, but I am amazed how it can wake me up and remind me of what I need to do. I have a few friends from Spark people via my fitbit, as well as a few others from Facebook as well.

It is easy to sync to either your phone or computer. I even get messages telling me when my fitbit needs to be recharged via e-mail or text on my phone. So convenient. It is a great tool to work along with what we have on SparkPeople.
Today, I also set it up with my pharmacy Walgreens for their health program. That sync took me a little longer to set up, but I did finally do it.

Overall, I do recommend the fitbit. I bought the blue bracelet, but wish I had gotten the black afterwards. No problem. If I really want a black one, I can purchase a replacement band through the fitbit website.

I give the device 5 stars. It is a whole lot better than the little pedometer that clips to your pants, and then falls on the floor to be stepped on. The bracelet has a great little clip that keeps it attached, and after 3 months, I have not had it fall off once.

I average close to 5000 steps per day, almost 3 miles. Not too shabby.
I am Lunadragon on Fitbit as well. See ya there!

The flex comes with two bands, 1 larger than the other, both the same color. So if you buy blue, you get 1 small blue and 1 large blue. My small is too tight on my wrist. It looks like it could be rather small. I consider my wrist medium to small, and the other looks tiny.

I received a Fitbit as a gift and I am enjoying it too. I have the little one, which doesn't track sleep but also isn't on my wrist - which I think would bug me since I'm always keyboarding. Only problem is that I forget to put it on some days, so I miss whole days of tracking my steps! However I find it has pushed/motivated me to meet my step goal, which is currently 5000/day.

I have the spark activity tracker and I used to have bodymedia and the spark is nice but it doesn't track your sleep which I miss.

Glad you like your gadget and that its working for you! A wrist thing would never work for me, my wrists are child sized and I have to wear a kid's watch or bracelets if I wear anything. Most things will slide off even on the smallest hole.. I was lucky to find a Velcro strap for a watch.
Keep up the great work!

Thanks , I love my pedometer and I am not too happy using a sophisticated new gift. Microsoft 8.2. Because it is 8.2 instead of 8.1 it is the one with the most odd things on and the easy things OFF.

I read about the FGIT-BIT just yesterday. I keep thinking I want the spark one but somehow I am too cheap to spend money when my Pedometer gives me most of those things now and I have discovered I am still very challenged with overly modern technology.
I hope Your DH Is doing well HUGS Pat in Maine. emoticon emoticon emoticon

I am glad you like your FitBit. I have the small one which doesn't do as much but it has served me well for almost a year. I have mine synced with Walgreens also. I guess if mine ever goes Kaput, I would consider the Flex.
Thanks for sharing this info.
