Tidbits and a debate.

Some tidbits from today's Bible studay homework!
(Beth Moore - "David: Seeking a Heart like His.")

"Our feelings are worth sharing with God whether or not they accurately describe the truth."

~LOVE this! God knows the truth. So we can just vent to Him how we feel...regardless of its accuracy!

"His (David's) prayer to god also became a reminder to himself: "God knows my way." Prayer is for our sake as much as it is for God's pleasure. "

~Yes, yes, yes! Soooo many times, my prayers (especially the 'Thank Yous') are reminders to myself!

"Feelings can be a little like our laundry...sometimes we can't sort them until we dump them all out."
~Right? How do you sort your feelings...until you are honest with yourself? Pour everything out? Oh Beth Moore....you're so smart!

"If we allow insecurities to govern our lives, we become destoryers."

On a side note.... a few days ago (Monday...Maybe Sunday? Gosh, I don't even remember, lol. ) I was involved in a 'debate' on FB about the existence of God. A friend had posted a scripture and one of his friends had commented something along the lines of "only a fool would believe this stuff" etc. That doesn't sit well with me. In fact, MANY top scientists are now turning to Christianity, since science points more towards creation than ANY signs of evolution.

I encouraged him to read the books "A case for a Christ", "A case for Faith", and "A Case for a Creator." These books are written on fact. (All verifiable...complete and utter fact.) They basically PROVE the existence of God (well, "a god" but I choose to believe that my loving, forgiving, amazing God is THE God...)

(Links to those books at the bottom...)

Ok, a bit into this debate...this person said he refused to believe in a god that allowed such hurt.... whose followers were such @$$holes. Refused to believe in a religion that has the most judgmental people participating in it.

Ok sir, well played. I totally agree-ish. However....how can you base a GOD or even a religion, on it's HUMAN followers. Because y'know...that's exactly what we are. Human. No human is perfect. We all make mistakes...Christian or not. And I would have to agree that too many "Christians" are completely pompous and judgmental. That, however, does NOT define Christianity. The true followers of God, are about a relationship with God... not judging others.

I call myself a Christian. I have a close relationship with God. I spend a lot of time talking to Him and listening to Him. But you know what? I still do bad things sometimes. Does that mean my god can't exist? Certainly not.

I tried not to be pushy....as that is NO way to have a God vs no god debate.... I simply encouraged him to do a bit more research. Check out historical documentation. Mostly....read those books. They may just change your whole world!
