For the past two weeks, I've been doing a great workout DVD... Coach Nicole's 28 day Boot Camp. I already own two other Sparkpeople workout DVD's. I have Cardio Blast, and Fit, Firm and Fired Up!, but the 28 Day Boot Camp has become my new favorite.
The workout DVD comes with a little booklet containing a few recipes from the Sparkpeople cookbook...I love the recipe for Stepfanie's Quinoa and Black Bean Casserole.
Now for the important part; the workouts! Here is a quick clip to show you a bit of the actual workouts;
Each workout starts you out with a warm up to really get your heart pumping. The workouts are fun, and Coach Nicole is very encouraging. I love it that there are 3 different levels shown on each workout, so that you can choose your own intensity...beginner, intermediate or advanced. Coach Nicole is at the front, doing the intermediate level. Behind her is Jewel, showing the beginner options, and also Lindsey, who does the advanced option. For the most part, I am able to stick with Coach Nicole, but for some moves I have to do Jewel's beginner options. (And sometimes, when I want to REALLY challenge myself, I try to keep up with Lindsey, without much success...yet! Oh well, that gives me something to aim for!)
Coach Nicole really makes the workouts easy to follow, and I love it that there is such variety on one DVD! You can follow the 28 Day workout plan;
or you can mix and match to suit your own needs. I have been following the 28 day plan, and in just two weeks I really feel that I am getting a lot of benefit out of it. I actually look forward to my workouts each day!
I recommend this DVD to just about anyone. Obviously its not for people with mobility issues, but if you are able to get up and move, then this DVD might be for you. Whether you are an advanced exerciser, or you're just starting out (or somewhere in between) I think you will like this workout. I know I do!
The only thing that would improve this DVD for me would be to change the set where its filmed. Its kind of plain to me, and I prefer a prettier background. But thats a small complaint, actually. Once I get into the workout, I really stop noticing the background anyway.
