Gluten Free

Wednesday, January 08, 2014

I have been gluten free since Sunday, and I think I can see a difference already. My stomach swells after eating meals, and it hasn't ever since. I switched from my usual 6 beers, to 2-3 glasses of wine and I didn't wake up looking 5 months pregnant. I have NOT noticed a difference in my tiredness or fatigue yet, but I will give it 2 more weeks. So far so good.

This is a very busy week at work, so we get food catered to us. Today is a pasta bar (not gluten free). So my boss is letting me and one other person order gluten free pasta from Felix & Oscars. I have never had it before, but my friend said it's yummy. I am getting the Baked Cavatelli with Meatballs, a gluten free roll, and a salad. I hope it taste good!
Hope everybody has a wonderful day!

just wondering are you still gluten free and how was the pasta at Felix and Oscar's. I am also gluten free and have found a homemade recipe that is good, but having issues with eating pizza out. Thought maybe if their pasta was good, the pizza would be too. although the baked cavatelli with meatballs sounds good also!

My sister was having huge stomach issues and I encouraged her to go to the doctor. He said all she needed was a colonoscopy! She went to another and she lectured her about timely pap smears. She then went to a naturopath who actually conducted allergy tests. She found out that she had huge gluten issues and significant dairy problems. She did a 30 day elimination diet and her life has changed. She said that over the holidays she ate a few things she shouldn't and her eyes got swollen and her nose all plugged up. I wish that they would address food allergies at the beginning.

That's great news, and very nice of your boss to allow you all to have meal options.

Have you found it particularly difficult to avoid gluten?
