Less stress, more learning, a new attitude -- don't miss TED talks!

I am generally a very competitive person. I am finding myself in 2014 being much less so. For example when I do Trivia on Spark which I do daily I used to hate missing a question. Now I just look at it as a chance to read more and learn more and don't stress about my average on Trivia. Does it matter? Isn't it the knowledge which really counts.
I am working more on this attitude on everything. I watched an interesting TED talk about how stress is not a bad thing for your health if you looked at it the right way. You have to see it as your body experiencing something helpful rather than stressing over stress. I am not sure I am explaining this correctly and only have a small grasp on the concept, but I do find just knowing about it is making a difference in how I am living my life.
If anyone is interested in the TED talk it is one by Kelly McGonigal: How to make stress your friend. You can go www.ted.com and listen to the talk. If you haven't tried TED talks be sure to do so. They can be very informative and inspiring. I find then one of my favorite things to do on the Internet. You can also get the TED app to hear the talks. If you have a slow ISP connection you can download the talks before hearing and seeing them. I especially appreciate that as my connection is very unreliable.
In the talk it was stated that stress can cause a 43% greater chance of death. In a study those who saw there stress positively did not experience this greater chance of death.
When I heard the talk it strengthened my belief that God knows what is best for me. Stress I might be experiencing might make me stronger not weaker if I look at it that way. What an exciting concept.
