Okay- so Sunday and Yesterday I slipped. Sunday night I had lots of Cherry Vodka/Coke Zero drinks. Yesterday I had some cookies, and then hit the hazlenut spread hard last night. I was so mad that I couldn't stop eating it. See last nights blog. Like WHERE does my healthy mindset go? Oh that's right, the sugar monster won over. Picture me with a little devil and angel on my shoulders. Angel is the healthy me, devil is the sugar me. Right now the angel is just chilling, working her way up to being stronger than the devil.
I destroyed the jar of spread so I wouldn't eat any more. It's sad, but at least I KNOW that I can't keep temptations like that in the house. BF is eating paleo (seems crazy difficult/pain in the butt to me) and he's doing SO great on it! SO he wont miss the sweet stuff he should eat either.
I've gone 2 days without a workout. I wanted to live the motto "Never go 2 days without a workout" But.... yesterday was freezing and I had on the WORST underwear. Constant wedgie all day. So I used that as an excuse instead of going comando. The cold weather didn't help my ambitions much either- it was -18 without wind.
Today I'm getting in there and running for a bit. My hip has been sore since my run on Saturday. But that probably means I need to run and loosen it up again! Then I'm going to do 30+ burpees. And hit my arms and mid-upper back. No legs for me- running should do some work for those. I do NOT want to be sore for boarding.
BF made some veggie soup Sunday, so that's my lunch. His first time making it and it's loaded with veggies. The heartiness comes from the sweet potatoes in it. There's actually loads more taste than I thought there would be. Super healthy and decently filling. For dinner it's Stir Fry with a little chicken. No rice, but there's lo mein noodles in the mix. Yum yum!
Something that's been helping make life easier is Sunday prepping. Ive been ninja-ing an onion and red pepper to just about salsa consistency. I add this crap to everything! I also did the same to kale (WOAH- kale is so fragrant when fresh!) and been adding that to random things, mostly eggs.
BF has been eating fish- I like fish, but it's not my favorite. I give it like a 3 on my preferable healthy meats scale it of 10. 10 being... like... turkey burgers or something. Plus- I HATE salmon. There's honestly not many things I refuse to eat because I seriously dislike, but salmon is def one of them. I'm more of a shellfish type person :)
I made my own cheddar broccoli soup a couple of weeks ago. It turned out GREAT! Except I didn't add things in the right order and ended up blending my smoked sausage with the veggies. SO I didnt have nice thick chunks of sausage and broccoli, more of like a mush with some hunks of broccoli I added later. But it was really healthy (turkey kielbasa and 8oz cheddar cheese only "bad" things in it) and still tasted great. Next time I will make the friggin BEST cheddar broccoli soup.
Oh man- I snagged a space heater for my cube today- and Its been AWESOME! So chilly!! Alright- time for lunch! Soup and 1/c cottage cheese! Already ate my 1/c carrots plain- and yeah i've gotten used to the pain carrots! I dont need anything on them to enjoy and curb my hunger.
