Day 1 of Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred

WOW! She kicked my butt that's for sure. The warm up wasn't too crazy, but then we started the 3-2-1, which sounded not too bad in theory on the DVD, but it was intense. Her strength moves were super intense, and I have a really weak upper body. It made it hard to push through the cardio. Because of it, I've decided I need lighter weights. 5lbs is too much when I'm not counting reps, just the clock, at least in this stage of the game.
About halfway through the DVD I couldn't really hack it anymore. I paused it and sat down to catch my breath. I kept getting dizzy and overheating. I realized I could turn it off, or I could push through it. I was only going to let myself down if I did.
So I stood up, and I finished the workout. I modified what I had to, including during the cardio when I'd have to stop working as hard and just marched in place. It wasn't smooth, but I did it the best I could. And tomorrow I'm going to do it again, because I'm doing this for me... even if it does feel a bit like punishment right now! Haha.
