I normally eat a bowl of oatmeal two hours before I go for my long run. So I make sure that I get up two hours before I go for my morning long run on the weekend.
For shorter runs I try not to go running with a full stomach. But other wise I don't prepare for it very much.
After a long run (over one hour) or workout I eat a banana or drink a small bottle of chocolate milk, as soon as I can, after wards.
