Watermellen starts a trend...

Monday, January 06, 2014

Watermellen has recommended the free 21 day FatLoser program, and I've decided to take part. You can find it here at

I watched the day 1 video today. The thing that stuck with me was the phrase "fat people eat for pleasure, fit people eat for health." My husband used to say "some people live to eat while others eat to live."

I certainly ate for pleasure. It would be so easy to fall back into that behavior if I wasn't still tracking my food and exercise. I admit there are still some foods that call to me simply for pleasure (also known as trigger foods for me)... and I can't have them in my house and resist for long.

These days I find myself thinking about the fat/carb/protein ratio of my daily intake as well as whether the proportions in any given meal will help me feel satisfied later, too. This is progress.

I am going to sign up for that program also. I agree with you on staying away from trigger foods.

You have made great success this year!

Watermellen has often been a good source for inspiring authors.
I have also signed up for the program today!
I realized a while ago that much of my eating was all about pleasure -- all about flavors.
This will be a good start to the new year!

    Happy New Year to you!

She certainly DID start a trend! I'm not a Steve Seibold fan (found him arrogant and EVEN WORSE, repetitive and long-winded), but I will benefit from his program by reading your blogs, those of Watermellen, and Onekidsmom. I'm not saying he doesn't make good points, I just didn't like his delivery. If he were a teacher I'd have to switch to another class! emoticon

Thanks for sharing, I will go look at that now. You have had great success and have such a positive attitude, I am happy for anything you share. emoticon I have gotten all, and I mean all, of my trigger foods out of the house recently and won't do them in "moderation" anymore. That just sets me up. For a long time I resisted getting off of wheat, sugar, and a few other things, but in just a few days the bloat and cravings are gone. I use a little raw honey or dates for sweet and use quinoa or steel cut oats as my only grains. No white potatoes (a HUGE trigger for me) none of these things are "bad", they just set me off and make me feel cruddy so why why why.

Hey, thanks for the shout out!! Hope you find fatloser interesting and helpful -- you've been so successful with weight loss and maintenance, it's only going to reinforce what you already know. (But: I find I need that reinforcement over and over again . . . )
