What INSPIRES you to keep going on this journey of weightloss and overall health no matter what is going on in your life?

Why I ask... I'm struggling to keep that spark going and I feel like quitting all together.

    I have had the same problem off and on. When I get my head back on right, I remember that I don't want to lose all the hard work that I've put in so far. That, more than anything helps me. Another thing that I try to remember is that I'm in this for the long haul. And thirdly, I remind myself that I would like to get back into my size 7 pants and my little black dress and that pretty white blouse with the lace along the front edge. One thing someone one told me is to put the dress out where I can see i every day. Maybe I'll hang it on the refrigerator!! I hope this helps! emoticon emoticon

    I have pics I have taken of myself along the way. looking at those help. Planning for the future events help me too. Knowing I am going to see people I have not seen in quite some time keeps me going. small goals. set smart easy goals. you got this!!

    I can relate - re-started more times than I can count...

Motivation is tricky - external factors don't work for me, but internal do. Hate to admit vanity drove me to health, but I refused to buy a new bathing suit for a trip with a gal 20 years younger... I only had 25 pounds to lose, and was able to accomplish in 6 months.
Finding kindred spirits here emoticon who were @ the same stage I was (# of lbs.) and using the same methods (walking) developed into virtual friendships and as we lost the weight, we became interested in other healthy approaches, discussing nutrition, mind-body-soul connections, etc.

Might work for you?

    My kids! I want them to have the mom (and stepmom) that they deserve. I want to be healthy enough to play and be active with them and I want them to see that I never quit. I want them to see that some goals in life are hard but they are worth it anyway! My youngest stepson has actually been my inspiration in that department. You can read my thoughts about him in my blog from today if you want.

Whatever you do, don't give up. You have all the reason in the world to want this but only you can know exactly what those reasons are. Remember- you are worth the effort!!!

    I remind myself that I want to able to climb the 10,000 ft mountain outside our door. I HAVE to be healthy and fit to do that.
And that motivates me.

    Hi there Monika. SP is a life line for me. I am 74 now and was very oveweight when I joined SP almost 5 years ago. It seems to have gone in a flash looking back.
I have met some wonderful people on here who are kind and encouraging and also that I have different things in common with.

For me it is not just about losing weight. I too became prediabetic several years ago and the BP pills were making me feel very ill, so much so that I decided to stop taking them and then I found a way of eating on Spark that suits me personally.
I am not on medication for diabetes or blood pressure these days and I have lost about 50 lbs. I am a very slow loser and decided to maintain about a year ago as the doc was happy with all my test results.

So I guess it is my health that keeps me going. Also I never want to be as heavy as I was when I joined.

Wishing you well in whatever you decide to do. Finding people who support and encourage me rather than trying to regulate me to their way of thinking are the most helpful to me, so finding people I enjoy chatting to is the most important thing to me these days. It lifts my spirits as well as helping me to maintain my weight loss.

    My mom for one. She lived a sedentary life and is old before her time and in chronic pain.

My mom and sisters are very large. That's not the way I want to live. Not skinny, but healthy and strong.

Spark members are a constant source of inspiration. I have seen so many members with health issues that would make me curl up in bed but they are loosing weight and making themselves stronger.

Then there is me! As I've worked on getting healthy, I have run some 5Ks, 5K obstacle course races and one 10K, slowly built up to doing 10 pushups on my toes. All accomplishments I NEVER though I could do or even thought I cared about trying. When I get down on myself and in a slump, I remind myself that I can do it, I can pull myself off the couch and get moving because I have done it.

Don't give up on yourself. When you feel like giving up, just tell yourself to do five or ten minutes of activity, pull up a short Spark video and chance are you'll keep going.

I'm pulling for you!

    When I look at pictures of myself at my biggest and I remember how uncomfortable I was.
My health: I have a fatty liver and I need to lose weight so it doesn't get worst.

PMS : I used to have very bad PMS and I don't anymore ( I had it at Xmas because I ate so much sugar).

Don't give up......even if you don't feel exited about it any more maybe one day you will again.
You are worth it! emoticon emoticon

    I do it because I found out a few months ago that I have type 2 Diabetes and I want to be able to control my diabetes without medication. I have to lose weight and become healthy, I don't really have a choice anymore. So anytime I want to give up I think about why I have to do this now and I wish I had done it on my own before I got Type 2 Diabetes.
Think about why you came to Sparks to start with, write down your reasons and then put that list up on your fridge or workout area or both and anytime you feel like giving up look at that list.

    Coming across and reading this poem that was sent to me a while back from a friend on here named Diana.

Here's the poem.

~ Don't Quit ~

When things go wrong as they sometimes will,

    Don't quit you've come to far thing that keeps me going is that I don't depressed as often as I used to ...another is my blood pressure is now normal and not high ...don'tgive up ...I bbelieve in you emoticon
