Trying this again

Sunday, January 05, 2014

I decided a while ago to stop weighing myself.. if I gained weight I was upset and would give up.. but if I lost weight, I would think that I had earned myself a treat. It wasn't working well for me either way. I weighed myself today for the first time in a few months, and was pleasantly surprised to see that I had lost about 5 pounds.
I like to know where I'm at, but I think I really needed that break from the scale. I hope this has broken it's hold over me. I think I'll only weigh myself once a month or so, and try not to think of the number too much. Use it more for measurement purposes, like with my inches.
I also made my goal weight a bit higher. When I get there I can decided if I want to hang out there or lose more, but if the number of pounds I want to lose is smaller, then that little weight ticker thing will jump so far every time I do lose.
I'm going to try making gluten free bread today. My step dad went gluten free and has seen a lot of different benefits from it. Couldn't hurt to try it out, anyway.
