Eating Humble Pie (0 Calories) - Walked too Soon

Sunday, January 05, 2014

Set myself back a bit with yesterday's walk. Coughing and other things. It's only one week since I was in the ER, and I had stopped coughing before the walk. Hope this isn't a huge setback. I think I'll wait to walk again; meanwhile, light indoor exercises. My body is weaker than I thought while recovering right now.

Yikes!

  Jess

Rest up for the next week. I have had Pneumonia twice and it sucks the life right out of you.....add in exercise 10% per day until you get to your 100%.

Drink lots of fluids, and watch great old movies. Worked for me!

Take care, take care, take care.

Over a lifetime I believe we come to trust that we WILL return to exercise when it's possible after illness: but it's so hard to wait!!

It takes a lot longer than we think to recover from pneumonia. Three weeks minimum. Glad you are listening to your body.

I tend to get up and out too soon after I'm sick too. It's just too easy to get ants in the pants too soon, isn't it? I hope you're still on the path of healing. emoticon

Here's what I would recommend: Get some caster oil. Put it thickly on a cotton cloth. Put the oil side down on your bare chest while lying down. On top of that put a hot water bottle with very hot water. It will put you to sleep and break up the congestion fast.

I'll send you my bill. LOL

When I had pneumonia my doctor told me it would take 8 weeks to recover and he was right. It was irritating but you can rush recovery.

    Aw sweetie!
Perhaps a VERY short walk would have been in order. You will be back on track soon enough, so take this time to go slow, heal and build up your strength over time. Remember you are not in a race and some days will be better than others. But you will get back to your long walk.

Take care. It takes time to get your strength back. Took me six months or more with my 8 day ICU hospital stay with pneumonia. emoticon emoticon Cheering you on dear friend.
