195.6 to start 2014

Which is only 1 pound more than when I left for Tennessee for New Year's celebratin'. And also 1 pound less than what I weighed myself on 12/18. So, I'm totally choosing to look at it as "HEY I LOST 1 POUND OVER THE HOLIDAYS!"

Went to the gym today, for the first visit of the year, and I asked about how often I went last year, and once they got past the confusion of not having me listed under my last name (they had my middle name as my last name in their records), I learned that I visited the gym 57 times in 2013. Add to that about 20 occasions when I rode the stationary bike I have at home, and approximately 20-25 visit to hotel gyms, and that makes about 100 exercise events in 2013. I might have done another 20 or so sessions that might fall under strength training banners at home, so I'll call it 120 exercise events over the past year. 33%...not so hot.

I think right there, that helps explain the 12 pound weight gain fro the first weigh of 2013 to the first weigh of 2014, or the 23 pound gain from March 5th to the end of the year. (The rest, perhaps the bulk of the bulk is explained by being on the road 4-5 days a week for 7 months and constantly eating out).

57 trips to the gym for the 220 bucks works out to about $4 a trip, which is a heck of a lot better than I'd done (until the last few months) at the previous gym. I consider that usage acceptable, especially considering those 7 months when I was only in town 2 full days a week. That said, I'll have to endeavor to do better, even if I get another position that takes me out on the road.

And maybe I can do something with these resistance bands I have other than watching them gathering dust.

Keep up the good work - you can do this! At least the $#!@# "holidays" are over and done with (as you can probably figure out, I'm soooooo *NOT"* a fan of those seasons)!

I'd say that you did really well over the holidays, much better than I did!!! Those resistance bands can be used the same as rubber bands; you can snap people with them, hold things together with them, etc. Oh, you can also pretend that you're lifting weights with them. But I think snapping people would be the most 'bang for your buck' fun!

I started using bands during PT for a hip issue and still use them when I travel, too.
SP has many videos using bands.
Way to go analyzing your gym usage etc., and setting goals for the new year.
My dear man was on the road for 2 years once and the only way he didn't balloon up was with loooooong daily walks (which he never does at home) and eating Lean Cuisine + supermarket salad bar + yogurt as often as he could.
May 2014 be your very best year ever, my friend.
