Day 4 - lots of beans today. I've been just eating plain beans (black, kidney, red, pinto) that I add to other stuff but today I found a can of Bush's Grillin' Beans in the basement kitchenette. I felt like I'd struck gold. I cooked them up and ate 1-1/2 cups for my lunch. My God they tasted fantastic! My DH started laughing at me because I was making such a fuss over how good they were. Beans. He just thought that was so funny. I put some regular black beans over my dinner salad with some chopped tomato. Last night I had a really hard time eating all my salad but today I was just so hungry that I had no trouble.
Took a really long walk today. Back to the stream which was totally frozen over! I initially thought it was still open because it looked like it was moving but when I actually got up to it the water was frozen in place. Yes, frozen just like it was moving. It was really incredible to see and I wish I'd thought to take my camera like JacksGran does. Perhaps tomorrow I will wander back there again. Even frozen that stream is a siren song for me.
And the hiking boots worked out pretty good. My feet stayed warm and dry. The only problem was my socks. The boots actually pulled my socks down and I ended up with a wad under the arch of my foot. Couldn't wait to get them off when I got home. Not painful to walk that way but just a nuisance.
So after 4 days this new eating plan is working out pretty good. 5 more weeks to go. My weigh-in day will be next Wednesday. Looking forward to what could be.
