Day 1: 22 Nutrition Vegan Challenge

My goal for 2014 is to be vegan by 2015. It's not too far off what I love or enjoy eating, but I will need to give up dairy, eggs, and revamp by makeup stash...I will not be a hippie looking vegan! Lol so I give myself the year to get and locate things I love that taste yummy and make me pretty :)

I decided to look into the JayZ and Beyoncé thing because...well.... They are hip hop royalty and look great and even though she made a big "oh no she di'nt" in the process, they did bring more people to try and either incorporate meat free meals and or try the vegan lifestyle.

I honestly don't feel it's as drastic as other feel it is...my love of animals is almost ridiculous...but it is what it is and I love them more than humans :) and Facebook has allowed people to be even more educated about what animals go through so we can eat and look pretty and it's sick...I personally don't want to be a part of it,

I have a pic on my closet door (my vision board) that says: Being Vegan Means I am trying to suck less" and that's pretty perfect!

So...on my Facebook page and Instagram I'll be sharing my pics and reviews of things I find on my year long journey. it's not my job to preach...I hate being preached to...but just show you stuff that you may not have thought of or wondered about...plus give my honest opinion on taste and how beauty products work etc. I live in New Zealand and things aren't as easy to get as in the states, but the world in changing,

I do recommend that you watch "Forks Over Knives" and educate yourself where your food comes from and how what you eat effects your body :) give yourself that 90 minutes!

Here are some pics.
My breakfast today was Vanilla Chia Pudding and Berries....I think it's replaced my favourite breakfast...wow..loved it!




Lunch is Crunchy Red Cabbage and Green Apple Sesame Slaw + 1 cup sweet potato


For a snack I have hummus and veggies

For Dinner Black Bean and Quinoa Salad with quick cumin dressing plus some dark chocolate for dessert (no photos yet)

Aiming for 10,000 steps today as well. :)

    Welcome to the lifestyle. Hubby is a vegan (over 30 yrs), I prepare all the food and even teach and I am back on track - so let's rock and roll!
