Today I have been feeling a little bored with the food I have been eating here lately! It seems like I seriously eat the same thing everyday! Honestly I've had the same thing for breakfast(breakfast essential drink) and lunch(apples with peanut butter) for seriously like a month straight and for dinner I always have chicken! I think I honestly brain washed myself to eat like that im scared if I eat something besides those things that I wont lose weight! I decided its time to stop thinking like that and get out of that funk! So I decided to remind my self why I started spark to begin with. And just thinking and looking back at past blogs got me to really think about my diet and what I want to accomplish
I WANT TO:
-Be more confident
-Have more energy
-Love myself more
-Step outside my comfort zone and try new things
-And most importantly succeed

I also made a grocery list of healthy stuff and that really helped cause then I could see all the things that are good and healthy for you and I actually like but I don't eat! So heres my grocery list!
FRUITS:
-apples
-bananas
-pineapple
-strawberries
-watermelon
-grapes

VEGGIES:
-green beans
-broccoli
-carrots
-corn
-cauliflower
-celery

MEATS:
-chicken
-turkey burger
-tuna
-salmon

SNACKS:
-nuts
-fiber bars
-popcorn
-pretzels
-dark chocolate
-& they also have a ton of little 100 calorie snacks!

DAIRY/BREADS/PASTA
-whole wheat bread
-whole grain read
-whole wheat noodles
-skim milk
-frozen yogurt
-low fat ice cream

I look at all these foods and think to myself they are all so good, why do I keep eating the same thing over and over? So in 2014 im going to try to be more crafty with the way I cook, spice things up a little bit! I am going to try to incorporate juicing into my meal plan a couple times a week! I am going to start cooking a lot more and preparing my meals ahead of time so I will actually have time to sit down and eat and not worry about if my food will be done in time for work!

Since the weather has been kind of crappy here in Illinois(we're suppose to get up to a foot of snow tonight) ive kind of been slacking on my workouts so I went out and bought I couple exercise DVDs I will start those on Monday!

Also I would like to know how often you guys weigh yourself? I do it almost everyday(its addicting) next week I am going to only try to weight myself twice a week!

    Great plan! I love to cook exotic recipes and use all sorts of meats. I eat a HUGE variety of foods because I'd get bored otherwise. You can definitely branch out and still lose weight! I've lost 100 lbs doing just that. (Feel free to check my food log if you're interested.) Good luck!

    Great blog! I get stuck eating the same things often too. Especially when it was busy last month. I try to change at least one meal every week or two, but that really hasn't happened lately until yesterday. I think it's easy when I find something I like and I know how it fits into my day and calorie range so I stick with it for a while.

Turkey burgers are one of my favorites! I cook 6 at a time so I can warm them up quickly later on. I also like to cook 3 chicken breasts in the crock pot and shred them up for salads or to just eat with some vegetables. Be careful with those 100 calorie packs! They are tiny and easy to eat more than one, just sayin' LOL.

I've been sort of interested in juicing, but I think it would be something I would not stick with. Might be something I look into in the future though! Looking forward to reading your thoughts on juicing.

    Hey, Ashely! Good for you for branching out a bit. I have a tendency to eat the same foods a lot, too. For a while it was because I was afraid, and then it was because I was lazy. (I mean, if it's not broken, don't fix it!) I realized, though, that eating the same thing day after day eventually led to some unhealthy choices because I got bored and wanted to rebel.

Your shopping list is awesome! So many delicious things that you can combine to create even more delicious meals. Enjoy!

As for how often I step on the scale, it varies. When I get obsessive I do it every day, but I don't think that's necessarily healthy. Twice a week actually sounds like a great idea to me! Not obsessive, but often enough to catch a trend in the wrong direction early. You'll have to let us know how it goes! Ultimately, what works for others isn't necessarily what's best for you, so just keep changing it up until it feels right.
