Got my Spark Activity Tracker!

Very exciting! My spark Activity Tracker arrived yesterday!

This morning it's showing me as walking 112 steps yesterday. I suspect that number is just a tad low. I probably got those by just trying to attach it to my clothes!

Funny how it's not registering how much time I'm sitting in front of the computer. Maybe if I attached it to my hand?

Just kidding! I'll try it on the elliptical this morning and see what it shows. One down side is that while using low impact machines like ellipticals and bikes, it needs to by attached to the top of a shoe. When I'm at home, I'm barefoot. That means switching it a couple times a day. But I'm game!

I'm looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Anyone else have a tracker? Maybe a Fitbit? Or a regular old pedometer? Love it? Find it helps, or it's a waste of money?

I have a FitBit One and love it. I needed something that accurately tracks every step and this one does it. I use to have Omrons - top of the line. Didn't track until you did 10 steps in a row which is what SAT does I've heard. Not for me and my cleaning business.

I used to use one walking, but I have no idea where it is now.

I am sending mine back. I think it would be great for people who are only looking to track walking or running or eliptical/biking, but if you plan on doing a lot of zumba or aerobics, it won't recognize that movement. You have to manually change it on the website, which is not a big deal, but then the lights on the tracker do not match up with what you've done. I did two hours of step aerobics last night, and it only gave me "credit" for 60 steps. So for all that work, I only got 2 lights lit up. That made me sad. I asked on the forums about it, and Spark confirmed that the lights will never match up when I have to manually edit activities. So for my chosen activities, I will never get the full light show. :( But for walking, running, and cycling or eliptical, it will probably be great.

I have the fitbit 1 I go nowhere without it. When I do my 3 mile walk, I attach it to my athletic shoe. I wear it to bed, it measures my sleep, which is what motivated me to purchase it in the first place. I have a website where I record all the activities even my blood pressure readings for the day. Best purchase I have made in a long time. I attach it to the waist band or sports bra whatever I have chosen to wear. When this wears out, I am opting for the wrist band one. Hopefully not for a long time, pretty pricey these things are.

I must confess that I did not know what the Spark Activity Tracker is. So I looked it up. From the article I get the impression that just buying / attaching it is going to make you fit!!! emoticon

I had to read one sentence a couple of times, did you really say YOU are going on the elliptical this morning, or just put the activity tracker on? emoticon kidding...

If you plan on being barefoot, have you thought about attaching it with super glue?
