Back on the wagon

As I write this blog entry, I see that my last one was in September. And I see that entry was about the downward trend I saw on the scale.

The holidays and everything now have me at my heaviest. 195 according to my home scale. I am dreading going to the doctor's at the end of the month, as their scale will have me over 200.

Well its a new year, and time to reset. So far I've gotten my 8+ cups of water in 3 days in a row, and I've logged into SP each day since Jan 1. I also bought the SP activity tracker just before the new year, and it arrived yesterday. I got it this morning after my night shift, and after I slept, I activated it and am now wearing it. Its definitely a lot easier to track my steps with it!

My regular Zumba instructor has cut back her class days. Now its Monday and Wednesday Zumba, and Thursday is Toning. With my crazy work schedule, I won't be able to make as many classes. So I'm contemplating joining the Y. I was a member of 24 hour fitness several years ago when I did make significant progress in my weight loss/get healthy attempts, but there were just too many issues there. Several of the other Zumba instructors that I have tried do teach some at the Y, so that's why I'm considering that. I know I should be able to get out there and get exercise without the membership, but I've just found that it I have a place to go, I'm more likely to do it. At least that's what it was like last time. But of course with everyone else getting on the new year weight lot wagon, I know any place will be crazy. Hopefully next week when I'm off during the day, I can go down and sign up without it being too busy.

I have my cousin's wedding over President's Day weekend. So unfortunately I won't be able to make it to the Great Aloha Run this year. I'm already signed up, but I can't miss this opportunity to see my closet cousin get married! And to see tons of family. Because I'm not doing to the GAR, I have not been running, and that's really bad.

I do have the Epilepsy Foundation 5K at the end of this month. Although my husband and I aren't yet signed up, we will be doing that run. He does the 10K, and I'll muddle through the 5K. I have epilepsy, so its important to me personally to do that every year. Its a tough 5K (and I hear the 10K is tough too), but it is a pretty run over by Diamond Head. The Pro Bowl is that afternoon, and we've got tickets again. Last year the 2 events were the same day as well. So get up early, do the run, then head home and take the bus out to the stadium for some football.

Don't worry - you're not alone. Even many of us who weren't completely off the wagon have lost ground to make up (ugh - all my clothes are TIGHT AGAIN!!) emoticon
