Day 2

Friday, January 03, 2014

1/1/14 was a bust, so yesterday was Day 1. Now it's Day 2, and boy oh boy, the cravings are here. Last night I found myself in the kitchen many times. Happily, all the unhealthy treats are now gone.

On the downside, we're in the middle of a big snow storm. I'm not going out in that! I do have plenty of provisions, but not everything I need for recipes I want to try. And there's the stuck in the house factor. Shouldn't I be drinking hot cocoa and having comfort food?

Nope, decaf coffee for now. But, I am struggling with water. I have zero interest in anything that's not nice and warm! I should just turn off the TV with the constant weather coverage.

And Luna is calling me to play, so I gotta go!

Herbal fruit teas are great warm drinks with zero calories too

Make a cup of boulion. Grab some grapes, veggies, fruit. Get away from that tv only makes you want to eat. Start writing down why you want to eat on the computer to get you away from it. Get busy with something. Play with the cat. Anything to take your mind off of food.

Found yourself in the kitchen? For what? Washing your hands?! emoticon

I'm sorry you have the bad weather. How about having nice herbal tea? I feel that it warms me more than decaf coffee (which I rarely drink, anyway, I drink chickory coffee usually). Herbaly tea with herbs like cinnamon and ginger are warming...

You HAVE learned (referring to day 1). Whether it is cravings or needing to get physical or eating vegetables... it does not make it any easier. One good choice at a time. Once spring comes you will be ready and excited to embrace outdoors again. Just because you know EVERYTHING that you can do for yourself does not mean you have to do it all at once. Maybe you can ease into it. Start with planning and setting yourself up to succeed. I remember thinking I was going to do a 10 minute video (coach Nicole) and in those days thinking 10 minutes might kill me, lol. But it was not 10 minutes of all out cardio. Nope, it was a warm up, slow and gentle start, probably less than 5 minutes of cardio and then the cool down started. I do that all the time, try and make things too hard. Why not make them really simple to start? LOL I think I have my blog theme for today. Thanks!

Wow! Honesty and gentleness with yourself. I think we persevere when we gently bring ourselves back to task. Each day a new beginning.

Don't react!!!!! Just look at those "comfort food" thoughts, smile, and continue on program. Simple!

Your self-respect is more important than staying in a pattern that does you harm.

Do you need me to come over there and give you a slap???? emoticon
