Snow and shopping

Thursday, January 02, 2014

Wow... 18 or 19 inches of snow in Boston, and it's on its way to us too, but we already have over 6 ft. accumulated at our driveway entrance.... and it's only the 2nd week of winter..... how long can this go on?

Lot of ice.... luckily I can still back into the little tunnel to get into my yard, but it's a big uphill pile of ice..... hard to stay cheerful at all, unless you go shopping and that I did today before the blizzard gets here.... great bunch of bargains.... dollar days are so fun....But, this year's resolution is to track how much I am spending, as well as how much I am saving in discounts and coupons and then how much I earn in rewards.... spreadsheet here I come...

so far this year, off my food and exercise....
sounds like there will be lots of time over next few days to plan some menus and do some exercise... church has already been cancelled due to furnace trouble, so may as well just hunker down and not go anywhere....

You have one Terri Plus One foot of snow..that is ridiculous!. When we first went to Nova Scotia, they said snow didn't last long

Hope today was a good one for getting things planned. It was nice to see you on FB.

My heel is better,,,I think that it liked the bike today. I really wanted to walk.. emoticon

I do not envy you in the least. Six feet of snow, wow!. I would be thinking that would feel claustrophobic out on the road? Or is the snow not so deep out there ? Certainly have a picture in my mind that does not look appealing to me....

I hope that you won't need to be out in bad weather. The older I get the more I determine not to go out when it is obviously icy. I smile as I say that, because some 12 or 13 years ago, I heard of an older gal who wouldn't drive if there was snow on the ground --- I thought that a bit excessive. However, this dozen or so years later, I am getting to understand her thinking! emoticon

Normally --- during our CHRISTmas holiday travel across Kansas & into Oklahoma, we hit a lot of snow going & coming home. However, during our travels this year, there was virtually no snow or ice to be seen --- except right around the hotel this morning --- that seemed rather weird to us. It was such a blessing to have clear roads to travel on. We had heard about the snows in the Boston area & were happy that they were in that area rather than in ours. We have family in the New England states, so are praying God's protection over them as they, too, face snow & ice conditions.

God bless!

We had around 7inches which is a lot for us, but the blowing and low temps is what makes it bad. Flat around here so it just blows until something stops it. Stay warm & plan your new healthy year!!

If you have to go out, please be careful and stay safe and warm. Definitely our weather will be worse with Hercules showing up and bringing our temperatures unbelievably low and lots of snow across the US.
So sorry to hear that your church is having furnace trouble. Hope they can get it fixed quickly but I'm sure it also depends some on the weather.
Good luck on getting back on track with your food and exercise. YOU CAN DO IT!!!
Blessings and hugs,
Helen
