Distance Report 2013! and recap pics...

Thursday, January 02, 2014

My total training distance for 2013 = 2300 km / 1437 miles!

Jan: 137; F:66; M: 172; A: 209; M: 249; J: 215 = 1048 km
J: 217; A:248; S:265; O:187; N: 156; D: 179 = 1252 km
Total: 2300 km

This graph is actually my stats report from sparks. This year I also started tracking with a fitbit -but my steps are not included in this calculation. My mileage is only my training (running, hiking, cycling or elliptical). I wanted to remain consistent with my way of tracking to compare from year to year...

2012:
2012
J: 140; F:106; M: 166; A:158; M: 172, J: 184, = 926 km
J: 224, A: 240; S: 221, O: 113; N: 130; D: 170 = 1098 km
Total: 2024km...

The overall curve is not so different but I banked 202 km extra!

In 2013, I completed a few races... my first marathon!!! ...

and I did an awesome hiking trip on Vancouver Island (BC, Canada) with my DH. - see my past blogs for details.

Our trips took Jeff and I to many places: starting with Mexico (Huatulco) in January, a short trip to Houston (Tx) in May, and more recently we visited Vegas for 3 days (this blog is still to come!)

I will take this opportunity to post a some pictures... captured during some nice walks.

At the trail in Mindhurst (Ontario, 5 min from my house!) with my daughter Emma - for her 18 BD!

And then my mom and Ken came to my place for a week... and to support me during the marathon! The day before the race - the weather was terrible, but we manages to take a picture at the Falls!

The trail was a nice way to keep it moving - recovering from the 26.2 miles!

and my goals for 2014! ...

... keep it going! Because I have some extra to loose...(some would say I can't complain but I have gained 12 lbs!) See we indulged a bit:
(and we are about to leave for an All-inclusive for a week - buffet + no tracking : never a scale success!

The best part of the holiday break - beside the fact that I did not work! - was spending some time with my family...

Version 2009 and 2013 - with my sister and our girls!

During my short visit to Quebec City, I had a veggie burger lunch with Emma - Soooo good and not diet friendly! (and yeah, more food! - Victor makes the best veggie burger ever! Homemade patties with date marmalade, feta cheese and kale)
... to burn the extra cal, we went for a cold walk!... (see my new profile picture!) this snowman was very impressive! Real snow and it is as big as the house!!!

Back home, Maggie decorated our gingerbread house:

I received a few gifts - and I promise to keep it rolling! (this is actually pretty cool - it is a massage ball - for sore muscles after long runs...)

Because we could not take this shot again...(my mom is spending 2 months in Texas) we made the best of it via technology!

Happy New Year

Well, my goals for the next week are just to get more sleep and enjoy a repeat of last year...

I will take my relax time to write my blogs so I can post it upon my return!

Cheers Sparkfriends! Happy New Year and Let's GO the DiStAnCe!

Wow, you seemed to fit 2 months into 1 month. Congratulations on 1437 miles. I will try to tally mine for 2013 but for 2014 I'll keep track.

I think you had a great year of accomplishments. Family time, fast runs, and vacation trips looks like a wonderful year. Great job on all the work. Maybe this year you can make that 12 pounds disappear. Maybe we can make an anti-cookie pact to help each other out. I'll have to put cake and ice cream on my list though.

Anyways- Best of luck to you in 2014. Will keep in touch, Konrad
