So, I wrote a while back about my plan to finish the Rookie Running program and run a 5K. I am happy to say I DID IT!! I ran my first 5K today in about 42 minutes. It was really hot and I was not used to running in the sun. I usually run at night so running during the day was different.
I have a few more events planned in the future so I need to create a new plan.
10K in April (Lost Dutchman Race)
Esprit de She, Duathlon (1.5 run/ 12 mile bike/ 1.7 run) May 4
I plan to do 2 brick workouts a week; one will be a long one and the other a short one. I might have to re-evaluate this as I get closer to the race, but I'll do this for a month and see how it goes.
I plan to continue running 2 additional times a week; one longer one (3+ miles) and the other a shorter maintenance run.
I will also conquer my fear of riding my bike at night and start riding on Fridays again. I stopped because I had a near miss with a motorcycle, but I just have to get back up there and try again.
This next week will be a challenge because I start school again and that always takes up time. (sigh)
Anyway. I realize this plan is a little vague, but I wanted to put it out there before I forgot.
