I watched both boys leave the comfort of a secure job to stretch their wings and fly farther from home, and it has turned out well for both of them. I had a wonderful fitness year, and obtained a challenging goal that I had set for myself. My husband and I travelled to Phoenix and enjoyed visits from family and friends while we were there. I got to travel to Alaska with three generations of family, and saw such remarkable beauty along the way. Two nephews added spouses to our growing family, and a new great-neice made her appearance. We had one of the best harvest seasons I can ever remember. It was a year to remember, my "Lucky 13"!
My main fitness goal was 2013 miles in the year 2013, made up of 513 running miles and 1500 cycling miles.
My running mileage was accomplished in early July, and then exceeded by a couple hindered more miles, to finish out the year at 758 miles in total.
My cycling miles took a bit longer, and I finally hit 1500+ miles on December 30th, and ended the year with one last ride and Just over 1510 miles.
When I averaged out my combined running and cyclingmileage, it came to about 6.25 miles every day - which really makes me smile. It seemed like a huge goal at the beginning of the year, but by being consistent and chipping away at it, I was able to complete it.
Anything is possible. Just set a goal and go for it!!!
