Not a happy person

I thought I was doing well during the holidays. I wasn't. I weighed myself today and I've gained 8 pounds since the beginning of December. A few things have changed in the last month. Fall semester ended on Dec. 13, I didn't exercise as much in the last 2 weeks and I haven't really been myself lately.

I've had some really good days, but most of the days haven't been that good. I have an appointment with the doctor in a few days and we'll see if I need a medication change.

Classes start again on January 13. It will be my last semester because I graduate in May. My original goal was to weigh 150 pounds at graduation. I won't be making that goal. So my new goal is to lose 30 pounds in the next 5 months and to keep going after that.

  Oh my, this brings back memories! I gained eight pounds over the holidays a number of years ago. But we had a crisis. A family member was dying, and I did eat and eat and eat from the stress. We just sat there in the hospital. Stuffing chips and snacks in the pie hole is how I coped. She did die, after a week or so. It was around New Years that she died.

That was then. This is now.

New year now! Let's take care of our health!
