Diet and Exercise Season

Wednesday, January 01, 2014

I love this time of year. Gym parking lot fills up with cars, which is cool gives me more exercise to walk inside. Everyone flocks back to the dieting websites with a fresh new outlook on life. A new year, a new start, a chapter. Gym pact changed their name to Pact at midnight. They are no longer only doing gym pacts but now Fruit and Veggie pacts and logging your food pacts. Fruit and veggie one u just have to take a picture of what you are eating and post it. Logging food, they link up with myfitnesspal and you have to log at least 1200 calories a day to make your pact. So now I have three pacts. Last year with the gympact I made between 85-90 dollars going to the gym 5-7 days a week. I was never charged. I already log all my food, just have to remember to push the completed button. The taking a picture of fruit or veggie one is cake. So yeah I am excited, I think this could help a lot of ppl. I sure hope it does.

My brother-in-law agreed to transport my dads tortoises down to Oklahoma next week!!! We were so scared to ask him, I just figured he would say no. My cousin was supposed to have someone pick them up on her way thru closing on her deceased mothers house. That fell through after waiting for it to happen for 4 months. Our next option was flying them, but they would have to be on a cargo plane and who knows how cold it gets and they could end up upside down. So then for that route we would have had to wait til spring. My BIL goes to school in Norman, OK and is driving there anyway. My cousin is in Houston almost to the Ocean. So he's gonna drive them 12 hours and then her husband is gonna drive 7 hours to OK and get them. Such a relief!!! Yet another weight has been lifting finally! We are keeping one of them. Sending 3 of them to Texas. They have slowed down a lot this time of year. I only spend about 6 dollars a week on their greens since they are eating way less. I have no idea how my dad kept up with them. It was kind of nice taking them on for awhile and seeing how much he did because he loved them. The one we are keeping, Bette, he had her from a hatchling, she has a pretty cute personality.

I finally got my tintypes back from being professionally framed! My friend Rashod did them. My mother-in-law paid for the framing as a gift for Christmas. So happy to have them up on the wall at last!

Last night I made hoppin john, since last yr was so awful I needed some black eye peas to make 2014 better. We had a couple beers and watched more boardwalk empire then went to bed at 10:30 lol Hitting a dance class this morning and the rest of the day should be pretty lazy. I am ready to clean up my diet again and start all fresh. This was not a winning holiday but who cares. Been at this long enough that I know that restricting all your calories during the holiday just makes u feel left out. This was a good year for eating and exercise. The year matters not a few weeks around the holiday.

Welcome to spark newbies, welcome back my old friends!

The weather here is horrible so I am stuck at home as we only have one 4WD vehicle. The forecast for the next 9 days is awful.

It is so nice that you can keep Betty. I love tortoises. I wish I had room indoors to have them.

Love the tin types! They are so neat.

I like hopping john. Black eyed peas are one of my son's favorite foods.

You are doing great - you have mastered the art of maintaining.
