What I learned in 2013

Tuesday, December 31, 2013

What I learned in 2013:

Nothing is permanent.
In the corporate world, people are expendable.
When it comes to business, hard work and loyalty won't keep you employed.
When you are down and out, you find out who your true friends are.
It is OK to cry.
When you are going through Hell, you CAN keep walking.
It is OK to ask for help.
Government assistance makes you feel humble.
People will judge you no matter what you do, so just be yourself.
Forgiveness doesn't mean forgetting. It means you are letting go of the hurt.
Everything happens for a reason.
There is ALWAYS a light at the end of a dark tunnel.
Having a job is a wonderful thing.
Helping the less fortunate makes you appreciate what you have.
Talking to a stranger can make your day.
Puppy kisses heal the soul.
Find the good in any situation.

And the most important thing I learned in 2013:
Life can knock me down, but I can get back up. I am resilient. I am a fighter. I will survive this life.
