Hello 2014

2013 seems to have been a rough year for many, myself included. Work woes, injuries, etc. all made it more challenging than I would have liked.

That said, 2014 is going to be great! I won't accept anything less. :) And I have a goal!

I want to PR the half distance in the fall. To do that, I need to do a few things:

- Get my eating back on track. It's not terrible, but it has been sloppy over the past month or so. For me the best way to get back on track is to be very strict for a few weeks, so I'm going to do a Whole30 starting tomorrow. I'm very much looking forward to it, as it gives me some structure and really I'm sick of holiday food.

- Start run training again. Real training, not fun runs. (though I hope they'll be fun!) There is a half marathon in April that I will likely do with some friends, but that's not what I'm training for. My eyes are set on the fall.

- Keep up with strength training. The end of 2013 has focused on weight lifting, and it has made a huge difference in how I look and feel. I will not let that go by the wayside in favor of my running. It makes me a better runner, and a healthier person all around.

What are you doing to make 2014 the best year yet? Don't leave it to chance - set some goals and get working!

    My goals aren't much different from yours. I want to continue the strength training I started in November. I want to be stronger and healthier. I want to be fit like I was two summers ago when I was killing my work outs - doing doubles and generally kicking butt. Keep me honest, OK?

    love it! whole 30 is awesome! We are doing clean eating at my house starting the 2nd - it's tradition to have Rubens on the 1st! lol hope you have a blast tonight and a great start to 2014!

    This sounds like a GREAT Goal and a GREAT plan Jeckie!! I'll be behind you supporting, pushing and/or cheering you on the whole way! I actually started by plan on 12/29 with my elimination eating plan after getting the feedback from the specialist. I'm adding in consistent ST into the mix once work starts up again this Thursday! You GO GIRL!!

    My most important goal in 2014 is to keep processed foods OUT of my life and include more fresh freggies in it. I'm aiming for 7 to 9 servings a day of freggies.
Secondary goals include:
2. Make ST a habit - I was doing really well with this until we went on vacation - since then, not so much.
3. Finish decluttering my house (an ongoing project.)

I'll have more ongoing goals, but if I can accomplish these in 2014 I'll be very happy.
