Binge and gain

So yesterday was a very binge-y day. It was unpleasant all around; my emotional state was in shreds, and I ate as a result. And not a veggie in sight the whole day. Seriously, the only vegetable I ate was a serving of corn with our fried chicken dinner.

I'm up over 10 lbs now. I've gone from 184 to 195. And I weighed in at the doctor the other day at 200. I'm fairly sure that's just from sodium overdose, though. This morning was 195.3.

Today, I'm renewing my commitment to being healthy. I had whole wheat toast and peanut butter for breakfast, and I'm going to make a super-healthy salad (with some kind of meat on it; probably chicken) so I can get a decent start on veggies today.

The one good thing from the past couple of weeks: I haven't had a soda at home in two weeks. I don't mind having a diet soda when on trips or out to eat, but I'm not keeping a 12 pack here at home anymore. It's just not good for me. I've been drinking out of my Sparkpeople water bottle instead.

    Those are great steps! I'm also trying to drink more water. This week's goal is 2 water bottles a day. I'm more of a coffee addict than a soda addict, though, lol.

    I think Ending a Year on a Healthy note is just as important as Starting a Year that way! 2013 may not have been a 'good' year for you (!), but you haven't let that stop you from finishing it strong! Day by day, choice by choice...will get us where we need to go. 2014, Here We Come!!

    Did you have a bowel movement before you weighed yourself ? Not to get TMI, but if you don't do a poop in the morning, that will cause the scale to go up too.

If you did eat a few too many salty foods yesterday, you might want to make sure you drink plenty of water today. that will help flush your system. pardon the pun. ;)

And if you do need a fizzy fix, how about sparkling flavored waters ? I've become a big fan of sparkling water. Whole Foods and Trader Joe's both have terrific house brand bottled sparkling waters too.

    I know you like hummus - one of my favorite super easy meals is a flat bread or wrap, spread with hummus and a LOT of spring mix or spinach; roll up tight and enjoy.

DH even says it tastes good.
