Saturday I started following the 21 Day Sugar Detox eating guidelines, which are very similar to the Primal eating guidelines on Marksdailyapple.com I feel so much better:) I was finding that I was eating way too many "healthy " bars, so I was looking for something as an alternative. The guidelines have many recommendations for substitutions for protein bars. I made a really yummy coffee cake yesterday and had to share the recipe.
1 cup almond flour
2 chopped apples
1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
1 teaspoon baking powder
Mix all, pour into pan, bake at 350 for about 40 minutes. Enjoy!
Besides eliminating the bars from my diet, I also have been eating green apples (which I love) and grapefruit. Those and unripe bananas are the only three fruits allowed on the plan. I am not a banana fan, so I have been eating the apples and grapefruit.
Gym today was a great workout, trainer was not,...but that's another story:)
