I know, broken record here..can you say burr!

Monday, December 30, 2013

That is all we are talking about down here in Ajijic, Mexico. The weather. I looked at the forecast and it shows that we might even get colder. It's raining again so the wet makes it feel even colder. so imagine casas that are made out of thick concrete and tile floors. they normally are great as during the day the sun warms the tile and yet it doesn't get too warm inside so you don't need air conditioning....and normally we need no heat either as the warmed tiles keep it warm enough for the nights. but no sun and cold weather makes everything keep the chill on! Thank goodness for my space heater and electric blanket and thank goodness for our outdoor living room with fireplace that keeps us warm. Our neighbors came over to watch the Seahawks game with us (we all lived in the Seattle area for a long time and are fans). So funny having everyone come over with coats on and sweaters and such. We all were nice and warm and comfy though in the outdoor room. And the Seahawks won. Woo hoo. Then my DH and I went inside and watched our Eagles on Sunday night football and they too won. So good football day. Although neither team looks like a Super Bowl team. Eagles actually very painful to watch at times. I had a tray of cheese, crackers, salami, mustards, olives and such for all to have. I had none. Didn't even temp me. I have found that if I stick to my plan and eat my big bowl of yogurt, blueberries, raspberries and almonds it satisfies me for hours and I am not tempted to eat that stuff. So happy that I didn't go off plan. Plus I couldn't eat any of that anyway as I am sticking with my plan of no dairy(accept Yogurt), nitrates, gluten, etc. And it's working. I feel really healthy on this plan and love feeling good. Not worth eating things I know give me inflammation.
Today I will do some things to prepare for another big dinner party on New Years Day. I will set table, grate cheese and make some sauces. Then I am sure my DH and I will cuddle outside and watch some shows to keep warm. I forgot to say that our casa's are about 59 degrees inside....that is why we are wearing outdoor gear. At least the outdoor fireplace room gets up to like 68 when we have the fire going...so not too bad. But for sleeping I pile on the blankets.
Hope you all are doing great and making good decisions.....don't forget to eat something good for you and healthy before going to a social event as it gives you more strength to pass on the junk food.
Cheers
Sallie

    Sallie,
Keep warm. Seems like it would be cozy for a day or two, but not for long. Hope it warms up for you soon. It was a good football weekend for me too. Go Patriots!

I'm glad you have blankets and a fireplace to keep you warm. Congratulations on following your plan and having such success in feeling good. I wonder if I'll ever get to the place I don't even want the stuff that's not so good for me?
