Taking it easier...

Sunday, December 29, 2013

Notice I didn't say "easy"... just easier? I didn't walk every hour like I have been doing, but instead walked after I finished reading a book, or played with the dog. I did a little yoga to stretch things out, but I skipped my abs challenge workout today. I am still going to be close to 180 minutes for the day, but that is a lot less than the 400 minutes I did two days ago! So, today's experiment at taking it easier was a qualified success. That fitness streak lives on another day, and I feel a little rested.

I am not as rested as I could be as I woke up repeatedly through the night due to disturbing dreams. Not nightmares really, but the kind of dreams where the situation is hopeless. I hate those kinds of dreams! I would almost prefer a scary dream.

I got a little cleaning accomplished today as well. Just 20 minutes, but that got most of my apartment tidied. I do need to take an hour and reshelve some books. I have a LOT of books! I have been sorting them for books I will want to read again, and those that I won't mind giving away. There are a lot more books that I will reread than ones I am willing to part with. Books are my one real vice though, so I guess I am doing pretty good. LOL

Rest is good. I'm trying to do 10k steps a day but I decided that I need at least 1 day off - it was becoming too stressful.

Glad to read that you rested today. Tomorrow you can go back to your heavy exercise.

I love books and keep many that I do reread. Sometimes when I am tired or not feeling well, they are old friends to curl up with.

HI !! Ive been downloading books,,, its soo much easier !!! I do NOT mind NOT having them in myh hand,,, and my eyes are getting worse,,so it's easier for me ! WOOHOOOO !!!

I hope there are some you are willing to part with. Do you have a hospice around you they could be donated too? Often the parents,, children who go into there leave AT ONCE from home,,,without something to do. They may WELL LOVE them,, ,also if you have any extra food in a box/can etc that has a GOOD date,,andof course not opened,,, they ALSO LOVE IT as well as any personal items,, you do not need,,, that's not opened

Like ur place,,, mine is almost always very clean,,so this challenge,,is making me REALLY LOOK around. Last week I had decided to NOT clean my floors,,,,or coffee table, but to throw things on it,,,,I wanted a TOTAL BREAK from LIFE,,,,, as you know most likely,,, I am taking off some time from the Dawggies on doing just the figures,, the rest of it,,,I am still doing,, and WILL. I just needed my "annual" break,,,and it's been GREAT !! I've been a leader in this challenge now for 3 yrs. :) It keeps me from GAINING though I can NOT say in the long run,,,,I lose. if it were NOT for this challenge,,,with my health probs,,,,, i'd clearly be WELL OVAH 300 or most likely ovah 350 which is where I WAS headed. I WISH WITH ALL I HAVE I did NOT have these health probs,,,,,for then MOST LIKELY i'd be around 160 OR LESS. Instead I am struggling to stay around 215,,which IS DISCOURAGING so I HAVE to remind myself OVAH AND OVAH again,,, "I am NOT UNREAL GAINING " !!! So for this I am GRATEFUL. As a leader,,,,, ughers,,,this is NOT the example I WISH to be.l

Books have been a vice of mine too. I've started trying to just download them onto my Kindle from my local library's ebook program, but some books are such that I want the hard copy.
