Reflections on the past year!

Saturday, December 28, 2013

2013 is coming to a close and 2014 is a new beginning!
In just a few short hours, I will turn 48. I love birthdays. To me they are a time to cherish. It is a new year to love the people in your life and to make the most of what you have.
I don't mind getting a year older, it is just more knowledge that we have accumulated and hopefully learned from.
I am looking back on 2013 and thinking how great the year has been. I know that we have all had our ups and downs, but hopefully there have been more ups in the last year and we have learned something from the downs.
Because I work with many oncology patients, I have always cherished getting older since there are so many people that would give anything to have one more day with their loved ones. I really try not to take the people in my life for granted or the many blessings that I have.
So don't think about it as getting older, think about it as having one more day, one more year with the people that you love and care about and make the most of what you have. I pray each day and thank God for the trials and the tribulations in my life. I pray that the trials may be small and bearable and that God will continue to bless me and the people in my life. I pray for all of the people here on SP as well that you will all be healthy and successful in your journey to a healthy lifestyle.
So thanks for a wonderful year! Thanks for all of my awesome spark friends that I just couldn't imagine a life without anymore!
Thanks for all that you do for me!

That is so true about the people who are sick, and don't have very long to live. You are a very special person to work in this dept. because I don't know if I would be strong enough.

I wish you a very happy, healthy and prosperous New Year!

Happy Birthday Holly I hope that the upcoming year brings you great happiness! I also celebrate my age because - I will proudly tell anyone that I will soon be 49! I don't actually celebrate the day because I would just rather be low key and not have any attention on me, but I do agree with you, I am happy to be alive, proud of those years of experience, and appreciative of the time that I am given!

Enjoy your special day! emoticon
