Wk 142 Weigh In

Another week, another gain. I totally expected this one though. It started with fried chicken and potatoes on Christmas Eve then a big ham dinner with au gratin potatoes, sweet potatoes, corn and King's Hawaiian rolls. Then came the desserts...

Now with New Year's coming up this week, I fully expect to have another gain next Saturday. I would rather post a loss, but there's going to be lots of good food to enjoy and I plan on enjoying it. Then I can slowly climb back onto the wagon and get back to business :)

Gain : 3.2
Total : 96.8

Back on July 21st I weighed 209, then a few weeks later I broke my hand and things haven't been the same since. I have gained back 14 lbs in the last 5 months, I'm not real pleased about that. But if nothing else, I can say that I'm not in denial, I'm not hiding away from the facts and I'm not disappearing from Spark or being dishonest about my weight. I own my weight, it does not own me.

So hopefully I can start a new year with a little more motivation than I've had recently.

I'm thinking about setting some new goals for 2014, but I don't even know where to start! Gonna think about it while I walk right now :)

    Indeed, you are being very honest, and that is an example for all of us. And I am very glad you aren't leaving SP, which is what usually happens when people start gaining weight. The holidays are soooo difficult for weight loss. But now it will get better! :)

    i haven't had the courage to step on the scale yet (and I'm not back home yet from the holidays with family) BUT like you I've got recovery work to do. Let's do it and get the new year off to a good start - I've declared today an 1800 calorie day with exercise!

    Glad to hear you not beating yourself over it! you'll get your mojo back. sometimes life happens and it makes us do some steps backwards... but you start moving again that is sure.

Thanks for this weeks blog, I may just copy and paste to my page :) Injury, increase in weight, able to do little to no exercise, still being accountable (thanks to your fine example I might add), I am FULLY understanding where you are right now.

    I think it's great you don't disappear from Spark. What good would that do? Gaining 14 pounds in 5 months...well hate to tell you but that ain't nuttin honey...look at me getting competitive and all. emoticon

I think once the celebrations have passed one can get on to the business of getting back to business.
