You know, I usually don't do the resolution thing. I have always figured that if you want to change there's no need to wait until January 1, just do it!
And I did, last year, middle of May - just did it, got back into Spark, lost 30 something pounds, and more importantly, drastically changed my mindset and lifestyle. I feel like a totally different person!
Now, I still have ground to cover, weight wise. I can definitely pat myself on the back for having the most successful holiday season ever, but at the same time, I do need to get back on track.
So I am doing my first ever resolutions - for me, these are some good, short-term goals that will hopefully kickstart my getting back on the train - not broad, overreaching goals that I can get disappointed over not achieving.
Here's the list, I may add to this or take away as I think of them!
Get at least 30 Spark Points a day - I hope this will encourage me to get back to tracking my food, something I haven't done in over a month, and I need to!
Drink 8 cups of water a day - this should come with the tracking quite naturally
Get 8 hours of sleep a night - been staying up too late lately, and I have been getting sick as a result, which interferes with exercise
Actively smile when I feel the frown on my face that seems to be my 'natural' resting face :)
I need to get back to an exercise routine as well - haven't found a good small goal in this regard yet. Maybe getting out for a walk daily? I just haven't found the right time of day to do it. I'll have to think on that one.
I also need a saving goal - I have a trip planned in November and I have a lot of money still to save for it - need some kind of goal there!
Finally, I have a business goal of setting up more automated income - that's big and broad, but we have made it more concrete (my DH, business partner, and I) by scheduling a specific meeting on the topic twice a week. So we'll get there I am sure! We want more time to play, and to have some automated income for retirement should that time ever come :)
So the Spark goals are nice and simple. Track, sleep, and exercise (well that one needs work). But I feel it's all achievable. Hope you all have a great rest of the holiday break, and that your goals are simple and manageable too - let's keep it positive!
