Question about resetting goals.

I was wanting to reset my goals for 2014 here on sparkpeople... I mean the complete reset from the account page that removes all past entries...

it says "Delete all your goals and results. You will keep your favorites and food groupings, but all goals and anything you have tracked will be removed. (Some people find this helpful for reading their reports if they have tracked inconsistently in the past.)"

My question is, has anyone ever done this? What all did it reset? Did it reset your sparkstreaks as well?

12/29/13 UPDATE: I just got a response from a sparkcoach to my question on the technical help message boards.. she said it does reset the sparkstreaks... everything that has ever been tracked is deleted.

I'm not going to do the full reset I don't want to lose everything. I only wanted to clear out all past food and fitness tracked and past weigh ins..... I will just edit my goals in lieu of a full reset.

I'm still waiting on a response from the email I sent to "help" where I specifically asked about just resetting the food/fitness/weigh ins... when/if I get a response I will share it here. :)

Yes, best to just reset goals... don't lose all your years of good data!! Good thing you waited...

    With as long as I've been on here, I've been afraid to reset anything. I even wanted to change my username, but decided against it.

    I did it and regret it. I lost everything I had accomplished. Personal, I would just reset all your goals and move forward.

    I did it one time and it zero'd out everything I had, I had to start completely over...they might have modified it since but IDK.

    I'm not sure - but if you find out let me know. I've been toying with the same thing. I may just go ahead and do it on January 1st. I have a lot of points and streaks and such accumulated, but I kind of feel like if I'm going to make myself successful and accountable I need to look at this in a whole new light. A new light means a true fresh start, and I can always earn new points and new streaks.

    not a clue. But I would think it would not be a great idea. I think you can make new goals though without erasing everything,right?

    Personally, I would caution against it! emoticon You will lose much more than you bargained for (as friends have attested to) and you will lose all your accumulated ........... (If you want exact info ..... you can go to message boards and ask TECH support ................. they will tell you ..........

    Not since I have been back with Sparkpeople. I used to be Singinglady3 and I left and after that I had to begin again. I don't want anything to mess up the things I have accomplished since I came back as Singinglady47, so I will not be changing anything that might put that in jeopardy. I don't know what the change would do, so I won't chance it. Sorry, I could not help. Judi emoticon

    I don't have an answer to your question, but it'll be interesting to find the right answer . . . losing your streaks or points and the important things would be a real nasty surprise.

    I have done it numerous times - especially at the beginning of a new year.
Streaks - not sure if it deletes those but you can go and edit your streaks anyway
When you reset your goals it takes you to the page where you put in your current weight and your goal weight. Then it takes you to the 3 things you choice to work on . When you click on say you will see that it has also added you to a number of teams - so what I do at that time is go to my sparkpage and click onto those teams that were added and scroll down to 'leave the team' for those that I do not want to participate on.

I find it helpful to do this especially at the beginning of the year - helps you set up goals for the year

    I am not sure. If you do not get an answer in this blog section you can post this question on the message boards (technical assistance) and I know you will get an answer. Good idea to re-set goals. I may do that on my start page. Blessings on your journey. emoticon
