I have had little time today to do much sparking.

I woke early with yet another headache. I am taking the Chinese herbal tea and it does seem to help. But it still comes back.
My eyes are doing better but I had hope the headaches would go away.
Today I finished more rice bags, sewing always makes me feel better but today it was not as easy.

I finished the bigger rice bags that go from my neck to the bottom of my spine. It is the longest one. I had made a narrow one and this is wider and it was very comfortable.

I went to bed after lunch. Took ibuprofen and slept for four hours.

I called my DIL and she has been to the Dr and the other nurse will check her tomorrow.
She sent DH and I a gift but the Post office sent it back to Plattsburgh-Returned to sender--Address unknown.
That takes me back a bit when re -read the expression.

I was asked to go to Florida for a funeral and to help my friend get over her loss. There is no way to leave our house never mind drive to the airport. I know my friend understands but it is still a stress.

DH and I have appointments to check on eye issues an d since I am still using steroids I really hope I can get to our appointments. I hope they are helping my eyes I feel sure they are the cause of my headaches.

DH is hoping to use the new snow blower for the first time but we think snow over ice might not be a good idea. He has good boots but the cleat's do not fit over the thick boot sole.
Tomorrow will be another day. I still hear generators. So there are people out there with no power. I just looked outside and alas the other streets are still in darkness.
The line crews are working long hours and the road crews are out moving tree limbs off lines.
All of our utilities are above ground and we have millions of trees here in Maine. Sometimes the weight of the ice and snow breaks the lines. Most often the trees are covered in heavy ice. If the ice starts at the top it falls on frozen limbs and often the end result is it still hits the lines below.
Every year the crews prune back the trees but the higher the trees the easier the ice chutes take down line repeatedly.
It looks very beautiful.

A forest of glass trees . Pat in Maine. emoticon

You and your DH live in a tough place in the winter, but I'll bet it IS very beautiful! I guess you just get used to going without power for a while? Maybe everyone has a generator and a wood stove? I know I would if I lived up there. Pretty bad when you are not sure if you can make it to your Dr. appointments. I hope that you do, and get yourselves well checked out while you are there! emoticon

Pat, had a time up in New York one year where it had snowed a lot. Went on a road that wasn't used much. It looked like a winter wonderland. HUGS, Terry

Glad you have power. How difficult for those without it!

Hope you can get to your appointments.

I'll bet your DIL is glad to be home. How unfortunate about the present. Yes, that is definitely a song title I recognize! RETURN TO SENDER--ADDRESS UNKNOWN.

HUGS and blessings my dear.

Sounds as if your weather is much like ours. Snow over ice, with many people without power 6 days after the initial storm. High winds predicted tonight, so more branches will come down, and probably more power lines too.

If this is any example, this will be a doozie of a winter!

Stay warm, and I hope you can get to your appointments,
Hugs, Gail

I hope those headaches go away! I used to get them often but then not so much. I Just took pain reliever for one to today. I think it is the weather that caused it. The temperature is changing again. I'm sorry to hear that the ice has you stuck inside. emoticon

I hope today (Friday) is a good day for both of you. I was too tired on Boxing Day and quite relieved that we did not have to go anywhere. It is quite springlike here today - not too cold, dirty snow, water puddles and the sun is shining brightly. I wonder what tomorrow will bring.

Ice is so beautiful but treacherous.

I bet those rice bags are very soothing. I hope you get rid of this headache and eye problem soon. My son and hubby have headaches. I seldom have one.

I sent a prayer for you and your friend in Florida. emoticon

Pat, I'm pretty sure you're right about the drops causing your headaches. When I was on them, that's what they did to me also. I had heard that even utility crews from PA have head up to Maine. The crews just can't seem to catch a break since they fix some lines and more branches drop on them and they have to start all over again.

Please be careful. Thinking of you and DH.

hugs....Mary Anne

I had a horrible migraine yesterday brought on by allergies and the stress of my sister's death. She died Christmas Eve....don't know if you knew. We got lucky and didn't get hit for once, by an ice storm, but we do have snow. I am doing okay, but I am looking forward to getting this year over....Hope you feel better. emoticon

Sorry to hear about the headaches Pat.
I sure hope that it is not from the steroids as
you need that for your eyes. sounds like a picture
perfect wonderland there in your area.
Can't imagine not having power for that long.
Please tell Fred to be careful if he does the snow
blowing. Sorry for your friend's loss. Just have a good
rest. The long rice bag sounds perfect for the spine.
You are such a clever lady. emoticon
