I have had to resort to jogging in place in my basement. It has been very hard on my knees and today I put BenGay on them. It felt wonderful and I couldn't help but wonder why I waited so long to do this. It made walking, standing, taking the stairs so much more bearable. DH set up my mini tramp today. It is a thing of beauty to behold and very fun to run on. I feel like I'm actually doing something. And I finished watching "Lost Horizon" today while I was running. Started "Year in Provence" (Disc 1) and got halfway thru it too before I just couldn't go any further. Got in 13,000 steps today so I feel pretty good about that. But I miss walking outside. I am thinking of having DD drop me off somewhere tomorrow so I can walk home again. I need it. I got a new backpack for Christmas and I should try it out to see how walking with it will be. My current pack is small and I wear it like a sling across my back. Doesn't hold much and I wanted to be able to carry my things home after work each day so I asked for a larger pack. This one has all sorts of zippered spots where I can stash stuff. I should be able to bring home my shoes every night if I want but my main concern is bringing my clothing since I will have to change into warmer pants each day before leaving. I don't want to clutter my locker with clothing since we are always harping on the students for having too much clothing in their lockers and no space for actual school stuff (books, coat, homework, etc). I've been leaving my shoes and taking them home on Fridays. I usually have 2 pair there, 1 black, 1 brown and I wear in my boots so I can change into them. Before I leave I change into my walking shoes (which I take in a bag) and put my boots in the bag and carry it home. I will be able to put my boots in my new pack and that will be very nice.
I've been thinking on my New Years Resolutions for 2014. More on that later.
