Just like Christmas of Old!!!

Thursday, December 26, 2013

Well, Christmas was certain an exercise in over indulgence! Iím so feeling it in my complete lack of energy today. I ate and drank a ton of crap. Guess how Iím feeling?!?

But I did have a great time with my family. We had fun and there were NO harsh words shared! I know that sounds amazing and nearly impossible. Of course that is until you find out that my dadís wife wasnít there!!! She never came out of her bedroom all day. She had a fight on Christmas Eve with her daughters, both of whom left in a rage. They refused to spend Christmas with her. Thus she didnít want to spend Christmas with ďanyoneĒ. So we were not graced with her presence.

It was so strange that just the lack of one person made such a difference but it did. And Iím so thrilled. It was like Christmases of old. It was terrific.

So I really hope everyone else had a great day, got wonderful gifts from Santa, and got to enjoy time with loved ones. My body may feel like crap today but my soul is refreshed.

There were no battles this Christmas, unlike last Christmas. I mean, I got in a fight with my sister, which is not like us, and my husband got in a fist fight with my brother, which is not like him. This year, the only drama was that some jerks broke into my parent's home, so they had to drive back home and didn't partake in our Christmas feast which I cooked and proudly did not overeat. (The holiday drinking at the Union party I helped organize was another story, ahem.) Here's to you having an awesome New Years!

We also had a nice, contention free Christmas which was an unexpected blessing.

Yay, for a good and peaceful Christmas. It sounds like your Dad's wife isn't very nice to her own kids. I have a friend in the same boat. It's sad, but it's their loss.

I ate poorly, too, but I'm almost down to preChristmas weight. I think it's ok for an occasional "lapse" just to remind ourselves how much better we are when we do eat right and exercise.

Have a great weekend and enjoy all the new "toys" that Santa brought!

How interesting to learn that one person can really "spoil the soup"!

How wonderful to have a great Christmas this year!!!!!
Wouldn't it be a great blessing if herself comes to her senses and realizes what a pain in the tush she is!!!! Oh well, take it one day at a time.

I think most of us came away with an extra Christmas 'investment' but we'll work it off. Thankfully Christmas comes only once a year!!!!

She sounds kinda sad to me..... wonder what she is thinking .... does she have a mental illness?? I don't mean to say you should feel sorry for her..... NO NO .... not after all the crap she's given you, but her own daughters too???

Wow getting through Christmas without any personal drama is a "goal met" in my book. Hope you have made it through all of your parties and commitments. I have two family parties yet to survive.

I'm so glad you had a great Christmas. It's just a shame that the only way that happened was for her to be absent. Of course if she has that toxic a relationship with her flesh and blood daughters that go a ways towards explaining why she's so awful towards you.

    Her loss for sure!

My Christmas was wonderful and peaceful with my kids and DH. We still have Christmas with my parents, sisters and their families this Saturday. In my head, I've nicknamed my mom and sisters the negative nellies.

I decided whatever happens, happens, at least I had a wonderful Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with my kids and DH!

I'm so glad you had a nice day!
