Christmas 2013 is in the books, well almost. I still have a celebration with my parents, sisters and their families this Saturday. We are meeting for breakfast at a local restaurant and then back to my house to open gifts.
My kids are adults so quality time with them gets to be few and far between. The schedules did not start out promising and I felt the holiday gloom and doom mood set in but I kept telling myself to let it go. It’s a new attitude I’ve been working on all year. It’s finally starting to sink in. Life happens the way it will whether I give myself stomach pains or not. Adding more yoga and meditation for my December challenge has helped immensely!
DH and I had a nice evening Monday with his brother from California. Then we had a fun evening Christmas Eve and Christmas morning with my kids and my daughter’s boyfriend Many laughs were had. It warmed my heart.
Let me tell you all the sweets I ate the last few days. Well, no, let’s not go there. The past is the past, but mostly because I cannot remember everything I ate! My tummy is not happy with me!
I’m a bit lethargic today but back to work and back to my routine which feels good. I just walked laps for 20 minutes in our gymnasium at work. I’m planning one more 20-minute walking break plus a few stairs today. After work, I’m planning on the 10-minute Spark kickboxing video and a few minutes on the elliptical. Holiday calories are in for a fight!
I’ve decided on my goal for the Spark Rock Your Resolution January challenge. I need to be more flexible. I checked out a great yoga DVD at the library recently. I LOVE it! The only problem is my hips tend to lock up after a couple of the moves. So I plan to add more stretching and flexibility routines during the month of January. I’m actually starting now since I don’t believe in New Year’s resolutions.
The song of the day is by Pitbull and Christina Aguilera… Feel This Moment. The DJ at a 5K I did in April played it while we got warmed up just before the starting signal. To this day when I hear it, I'm back in the middle of 1700-some people dancing and feeling that pumped up pre-race feeling.
Join me in feeling your moment today. Regardless how your holiday or month went, make a moment today!
"One day when my light is glowin
I'll be in my castle golden
but until the gates are open
I just wanna feel this moment"
