Christmas...

Thursday, December 26, 2013

Well, I was worried about the family get together thing, as my family has a history of crabbiness around the holidays. But, it went well overall. Which is great!

I hate that I don't have money to buy gifts for the people I love!

I also hope that this war on christmas ends soon. As an atheist, I would like to go back to a time where it was ok for everyone to say Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays and people to smile and say it back. But now, I've noticed that when people say either one, I wonder if they are being friendly, or spiteful . That's a shame. Whether christian, atheist, or whatever, can't we all just share a happy time of the year!? That's all!

I did well at lunch with the family, but then we got home and ordered chinese, that and the soda I drank, put me over my calorie limit for the day. But, I'm not letting it get to me! I'm still determined to be 270 by January 1st!!! I think it's easier when I'm alone than when I'm with others because our brains are trained to pig out when we are hanging out! lol Anyway, that's all.

Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night! And if you don't celebrate Christmas, well I hope you still had a great day!

I just declared a war on the word Merry and wished people a happy christmas like Harry Potter did in one of the earlier flicks in the series. Of course, some smarta** pointed out that Herminione pulls a merry christmas in one of the Deathly Hallows movies.

And since I haven't a clue whether you're a harry potter fan or not, I'll just move along, shall I?

emoticon Thanks for your post. I enjoyed it. We don't get crabby; some of us look to others for affirmation unnecessarily.

MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY HOLIDAYS! I agree that we should just celebrate happiness, love, friendship & family. Atheists & Christians (& those in between) should just celebrate a great time of year filled with joy! I love you. Stay Blessed!

I wouldn't sweat your concern about inability to gift - this is sooooooo *NOT" the "reason for the season", as that saying goes (and goes so well)! I'm not exactly rich myself, but half of the reason I don't sweat this issue is that I simply DESPISE shopping - it just doesn't make me comfortable (I'm also a bit of a "cheapskate", and I say this with pride - I just don't like to spend all that much)!

As a "spriitually challenged" gal (not sure where I stand on spiritual issues due to *waaaaay* too many life crises), I also agree about this "war on Christmas" - it is simply *wrong* to deny the acknowledgement of the day just because one has a personal agenda.......enough already! Really - haven't you bozos learned to *SHARE* when "growing up"? (You'll note i used that phrase in *quotes*!)

I'm glad you had a good get-together yesterday - so nice not to have to deal with crabbiness, eh?

Glad you spent time with family. Gifts and material things aren't important, but spending time with family is something to cherish.

Happy holidays!
