Tried a new cookie recipe...

Monday, December 23, 2013

Went to mom and dad's house to bake cookies today. I like baking at someone else's house, because I can leave most of the cookies when I leave. I baked whole wheat oatmeal chocolate chip cookies with pecans. The last batch I added orange zest. The ones with the orange were the best, but they all turned out quite good. Mom and I started brainstorming different things we could add to the basic cookie recipe besides chocolate and nuts. I think my favorite idea was candied ginger and currants. I want to try making them that way sometime.

Cooper only got two walks today, but I got plenty of exercise. I walked every time I put a batch of cookies in the oven... 14-15 minutes each batch. When I got home I walked in my apartment for over an hour. I also did some ST and some stretching. I have been doing an abs challenge this month, but had to switch from doing sit ups to doing crunches with the ball, because the sit ups were aggravating an old surgical scar. Other than that I am doing well with the challenge. I have successfully accomplished each workout so far... but there are a few days left!

Using the Spark activity tracker has definitely increased my mileage. I am still not certain it was worth $60, but it IS helping keep me motivated, so maybe...
