Friday night, while my boyfriend was working, I decided to try to do my nails.
I first did my toe nails: white tip style. I did a layer of a light natural pink (a thin nail polish that was fairly see-through). I then got out the painter's tape, and put a little bit on each nail trying to get a nice line for the white tips. I proceeded with the white nail polish, took of the tape making sure to not peel off any polish, and then did another layer of the light natural pink. The toes look great, especially for the first attempt ever at white tip.
I then painted my fingernails purple, and tried to do a silver christmas tree or a silver star on one thumb… I failed miserably. I then took off all the nail polish and tried for white tip on my fingers… another fail, but I think it has more to do with being unable to paint very well with my left hand. So I ended the night with pretty toes, and normal no-polish fingers.
Saturday, on my way home from the hospital, I stopped and got my nails done. I got a full set of fake nails put on. This way I do not have to worry about breaking a nail, or chipping the nail polish. They will look pretty for a few weeks.
Sunday, I went and got a hair cut (I go about 6 months between cuts). I told the person to trim my bangs for them to fall in the middle of my glasses… they fall above my glasses. The rest of the hair just needed trim and layered. I wanted my hair to fall behind my shoulders… it falls on the top of my shoulders. I can handle hair a little shorter than I wanted… but the bangs make me look like a teenager. I should have waited until after the new years to get my hair cut. With the side I have my bangs swept to normally, and their length, they will not look good with my mask. I may have to just go buy bobby pins, and pin my bangs back for the party.
I was going to do half my hair up, with the mask tie underneath the up portion of hair, and then the rest down and curled. Ideally the bangs would be long enough to go over the mask slightly, and would be straightened. I am sure I will come up with something, but for the moment, my bangs are bugging me.
After I got home, I dyed my hair (I again, go about every 6 months between dyes). I have a natural light to medium brown hair, but I like my hair a little darker (medium to dark side), but still brown. The dye looks good, as always. It looks normal because it was only a few shades darker than my natural hair color. And, if there are any strands not dyed it will blend in as subtle high-lights, but I do believe I got all my hair covered in dye. My boyfriend also likes my hair a little darker. He likes the look of dark hair and porcelain skin. He would go nuts if I ever dyed my hair black, but I will always dye it the same color, a medium to dark brown.
If I wasn't an engineer, or in a type of profession that required looking professional, I would like to try dark purple hair for a little bit, just to see. However, I would not have the time in which purple hair would be allowed.
