I'm enjoying Christmas with my family in Western New York. My mother passed away in early November, so it's important for all of us to enjoy our time together. The weather has been crappy - pouring rain, cold and then freezing to create dangerous ice slicks the minute you walk out of the door.
My family's emotional health is paramount right now. I'm watching what I eat and am not beating myself up because I haven't had much of a chance to exercise. I'm doing what I can and will try to get back to the routine as I can.
And it is a routine by now - which is a wonderful accomplishment in and of itself. I'm happy that my dad is doing well and has decided to get on with his life rather than sit around and mope. He's 92 years old and right now is participating in an exercise and activity program organized by the Veterans Administration. There's a whole lot less stress around here than what I was expecting and that's a great, great thing.
Happy holidays everybody!
