What Has The Most Power?

Voted Popular Blog Post: View All Popular Posts

The last week has been a tad challenging due to the interesting weather. Several days I started out at my early morning time only to find that the road was too far slippery to accomplish my goal and exercise time was pushed back after I got home from work. Still, I went out and moved my body as the day went from light to dark versus what I normally see of it moving from dark to light.

Since I'm doing this for me, part of the motivational responsibility is mine and even though it may look like I'm singing along as I'm out "doing my circuit" (aka exercising), it's actually me occasionally telling myself little motivational things like: "You can do this," or "You got this, keep going." and then I fall back under the spell of the deep house music mix and continue on my way.

How about you? What motivational or loving words do you whisper to yourself as you make your way throughout your day?

My negative "inner voice" has been around for the past month or so. Time to get rid of it. Thanks for the reminder!

It is pretty hard to get enough exercise this time of year, especially in snowy places like VT. I no longer have the fitness (bad back) to cross-country ski etc. so when it is slippery, it's a real problem. I also have trouble finding my cleats and need a new jacket (just sent for one). I have to try, though. Thanks for the reminder.

A wonderful reminder to be kind to ourselves. I used to use negative comments as motivational tools. Well guess what? That didn't work! It has been hard to change that habit, but now I tell myself to that I can do it. It doesn't matter how long it takes, I can do it. That seems to get me farther. :)

    Power of positive thinking.

Think yourself thin- I have that book and I did. Then didn't think it.
The mind is so powerful.
Think it~~ Become it!

When it's -30-35 below out there I tell myself to just get outside, then it'll
all go so much better. It's the getting there that I find difficult. emoticon

I LOVE house music! It's my go to walk/workout music. Sometimes before I put it on I do a little walking meditation and repeat a mantra; then it's music time! emoticon

When I am out on my walks, sometimes I get lost in thought of what I need to do that day. Mostly, I love getting lost in the beauty around me. Every now and again I have to say to myself "get back on track and push a little harder; you can do it!" emoticon

Well, when I talk to myself, it's usually not motivational mantras, I have to say. Mostly it's reminders about what I have to do next. Not that motivational talk isn't a good idea.

I usually just enjoy the sights and sounds of the outdoors, and this takes my mind off of what I am doing. The time seems to go much faster also.
