I tried to start a new username and "refresh" my goals, but it didn't feel right.

I want to lose weight but at the same time I'm not sure how to keep my motivation going.

It comes on strongly then fizzles out almost as quickly.

I know if I just got focused again, I'd be able to lose the weight.

I'm hoping I get this figured out soon.

I feel like right now I'm starting from scratch again.

I really want to prove to myself that I can do it again, I can start losing weight again and also become more active again.

Take one day at a time and then you should see results. An error in one day is not a failure as tne next day is new and can be successful

I, too, have started and stopped many times here at SP. You are on your way to success as long as you keep coming back...It would be wonderful if we never lapse, but this is a life change, and that takes time.

I can relate to another post that mentioned dealing with the underlying issues, and I think that is where I will be focusing this time (besides tracking food and exercise). I need a healthy way to deal with boredom, frustration, loneliness, etc. that doesn't involve food. I need to become emotionally healthy while I am becoming physically healthy.

Best of luck to you on your endeavor to become your very best.

    emoticon You Can do this,
It's not important how many times we restart,
It's that we finish the task,
Remember that you are not a quitter,
you are a FINISHER...
so...... Pick up yourself and get back on that wagon.

As I'm walking that same walk myself right now I so can understand how tough it is to just begin again. I think after we have lost and regained we just feel like maybe this isn't going to work after all. Maybe we aren't strong enough to continue. I know about changing the page and hoping that will get us moving again. So as of this moment today we can and we will be stronger than the unmotivated us we have become. Or should I say I have become. We got this. emoticon

Start small, like taking the stairs instead of the elevator. Park farther away, not close. Walk around the block and short errands or bike if you can. You will get used to it and it gets easier. The days are getting longer again now, so that will help your mental outlook also. Good Luck!!

Another way to get motivated, I find, is to read, read, read! Every article offered on SparkPeople is a big dose of motivation. What I don't really "get" the first time, I read another article on the same subject and it sinks in. I admit I spend a lot of time on SparkPeople but I'm beginning to shake my "one day diet" mentality.

Good luck! Go Luzadelsol!! emoticon

All the very best to you on the journey.

I NEED TO KEEP TELLING MYSELF HOW MUCH I LOVE ME AND GO ON. YOU CAN DO IT WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM YOURSELF. ENJOY YOUR JOURNEY AND MOVE ON UP TO SUCCESS.

It is something that happens to the best of us! Each day is a struggle, but I know that if I can take two steps forward and I go back one step, at least I made it that "one" step ahead and eventually it will all come together for me! :-)

I am in the same boat. I've been an SP member since 2008 and have never reached my goal weight. I start with all the motivation in the world and then quickly lose it. I find that one of my vices is that I pay way too much attention to the scale. I look to the scale for approval. For confirmation that I am doing things the right way. My new outlook is to look for the non-scale victories. The extra energy, the looser fitting pants, the photos, the measuring tape! I've been back as SP for over a week and I've only weighed myself once. I've changed my tracking, to only weigh myself every 2 weeks. I added crunches as a monthly fitness test.
While I'm okay with going to the gym, I get bored with it quickly. So, I've decided to go a different route. I love to dance and I just requested a TON of cardio dance workouts from the library.
I'm also a mom. And I work full time, so there isn't a lot of time for me. I work and then come home and take care of my daughter. So I needed something to do at home. I don't want to spend my lunch hour at work exercising. I'd rather take that time for me.
I think you acknowledging these issues is a great step in a right direction! You can do it. Utilize this community for motivation. Find something else that will motivate you or if you get easily discouraged by the scale, look to those other non-scale victories to help you push yourself! emoticon emoticon
